I'm just saying that mercedes benz t80 or w125 rekord wagen are world record breaking land speed cars too
The thing I find interesting is the rivalry for the LSR has for last 50 years been almost totally a USA vs UK thing .
Strange how the UK with its reputation for sedate cricket and cups of tea are fanatical when it comes to high performance vehicles.
someone get elon musk to fund the bloodhound
I say try a Space X rocket on a car
I like to make 150cc motorcycle engine can go 185kph that can be used everyday normal
Where is the mercedis t80?
You forgot the Beast of Turin'
The Blue Flame was rocket powered, not a jet. Just sayin'
First Donut ad I haven't f-fwd over.
Sorry not watching after jet was mentioned. Those are not cars, not fascinating at all🤦
Bro forgot the T80 💀
Ok he skipped over the benz t80
But last ones are not cars😢
I was a kid in the 60s when the jet cars came on the scene and the Beach Boys had a song about Craig Breedlove.
The Blue Flame was my favorite land speed record car and the last one to set the LSR at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Minor quibble: the driver's name was pronounced Gabelich, gab rhymed with cab, not gabe. And the Blue Flame used a rocket engine, not a jet. This was the only LSR record holder that was rocket-propelled. (The Budweiser Rocket came later and never set an official record.)
I sketched up a model of the Blue Flame I planned to build that would've used an actual model rocket engine. I planned on tethering it with eyelets onto a length of monofilament fishing line between pylons set some distance apart on an empty, level parking lot, like my high school's on a Sunday. I figured that might keep it on the ground and pointed straight. I drew the sketch over 50 years ago. One of these days…
wingless airplanes… what a load of crap
C'mon Donut, at least write the speeds in km/h.
Lots of projector sounds fx in the background, very distracting.
I wish we still used the engine, imagine the noises
Sonic wind lsrv 3200kmh
so..sad the Bloodhound didnt get a chance to prove its capability due to lack of sponsor..cmon,we do need new speed record, all in air, land n water..didnt it bother u the last record made was from 60's,70's n 90's? i mean..the Blackbird SR71,Spirit of Australia n Thrust SSC still the undisputed king for soooooooo long?r we goin..backward due to the speed freaks?tell me if im wrong abt this..😅😅
Can't talk about the 1000mph barrier without bringing Rosco McGlashan into the conversation.
Britain really dominated the land speed record in history…
Why mercedes T80 isn't on the list??
Can someone illuminate on Sir Richard Noble being a Scottish fighter pilot? Didn’t know that at all! With all his exploits and reading his book he’s genuinely incredible.
6:17 Seagrave died at sea. Where his grave is. He surely earned a name for himself.
Land speed should be power to wheels
Jessis “car” looked like an F-104 with no wings
The Blue Flame and the SMI Motivator were rocket powered not jet powered. Rocket powered car have no air intake(s) because they carry their own oxygen tanks. Jet cars get their oxygen from the outside air so they require large air intakes.
The Blue Flame set the record at 622.407 mph for the flying mile not 630.388 mph. Richard Noble was not a Scottish fighter pilot. Thrust SSC driver was a active RAF Pilot when he set the LSR in Thrust SSC. There are a few more info errors but still an interesting video.
You missed the t-80
