How did Mudvayne reinvent nu-metal? I look at Mudvayne’s debut album “L.D. 50” and debut music video “Dig,” Chad Gray, their bassist Ryan Martinie, other Mudvayne albums like “The End Of All Things To Come” and “Lost & Found,” big singles like “Not Falling” and “Happy?”, Hellyeah and the Mudvayne reunion.

because of the mudvayne concert at mr. smalls in Pittsburgh in 2005 I now have to wear earplugs at shows to not have awful tinnitus, completely worth it
They did a great show at BRRF this year!
I never liked Mudvayne…not then and not now.
I’m getting a pic of all the slipknot members tatted on my chest
Atomship was underrated. One album. One of the most progressive nu metal bands of that era with some of the most underrated and complex drummers that no one's ever heard of.
Progressive metal for me it's dream theater so having a numeral band called progressive metal seams a huge reach
First time I heard dig i was blown away ,ended up being my entrance song at amatuer mma fights, really lit a fire in me
KoRn meets Tool???!? Radical!
im sorry but static-x takes this title
Dig and Nothing to Gein are masterpieces
I mean just going on stage in jeans and t-shirts is what the majority of musicians do. Let the music speak for you not some gimmick
Summer Sanitarium was freaken dope. I remember going there to watch Mudvayne and Deftones… the fact that Metallica and Limp Bizkit were there was just a plus
brbr? DENG!!!!
put your hand over his mouth as he commentates and enjoy the hilarity that ensues.
"More like an edgier Chavelle"
(I may be paraphrasing slightly)
Cue the "daaaaaamn" meme family.
What an amazing band. L.D. 50 and End of All Things are are legendary albums. And as you said, they were my gateway to metalcore and heavier shit. Great video!
He'll ya sorry I seen them 2 times and I supported them because of Vinny but I always thought they sucked just weak like hard rock I seen hell ya with avenge seven fold and hell ya just sounded like a local band after avenge still I always supported them
Mudvayne I loved them I played in a band at that time big scene in Calgary was awesome for us when we heard them we thought wow this band is hard to play we actually called them mathematical metal lol so many strange groove drumming changes loved it this was before there was a actual genre called math metal they came through Calgary and I thought they fucking destroyed I guess we can call it nu metal but for us playing in a tec thrash band we thought they were way to complex to call nu metal
everyone who watches this video should listen to L.D:50 it is so good!
I Saw these guys at Summer Sanitarium 2003!!!!! I ended up catching one of Kirk Hammetts guitar picks at that show, and will Never sell it, Lol……..here's my Tip, Don't try to "catch" guitar picks, just look on the Ground after the show…..no one ever catches them, then everyone just forgets about it 2 seconds later, and there's like 20 of them laying on the ground, bahaha…….But yes, Mudvayne still gives me chills when I put their songs on…..they aged Surprisingly well.
You won't see anyone listening to heavy metal music going to visit grandma unless it's for money.
Wicked music sent by Satan to enslave the minds of young people.
comparing these to Meshuggah LOL
I am NOT a fan of Nu metal..I'll take the classic 80's heyday stuff…BUT Mudvayne is entirely different! These guys had the sound and tone of Nu Metal…but they had a very deep complexity to them. The nu metal scene was EXTREMELY oversaturated by commercial bands trying to find their schtick, there little standout that made them different than everyone else…none of them had anything different (skindred trying to do the reggae rap, Orgy looking like fashion runway models, etc). Mudvayne was just pure talented music. I've still yet to hear any other bands from the golden age of nu metal that sounded anything close to these guys. Amazing band and musicians. I'd proudly go to one of their shows in a heartbeat
My first introduction to Mudvayne was with songs like Happy and Forget to Remember, so I initially thought they were just your average 2000s hard rock band and then I discovered Dig and I was like "whoa, wtf, this is MUDVAYNE?!"
Death Blooms still slaps so hard
Mudvayne was so sick, probably the turning point of my life to enjoy Rock music. My brother always loved Punk, Korn, etc but I wasn't into it much then came along Mudvayne. I used to bump them in my car in between Tupac, Spice 1 and Dr Dre. Dig still holds up here in 2022. It's a fuckin masterpiece. I'm happy to know I have good taste haha.
wait….. Reinvented numetal? the album LD50 was produced by Shawn Crahan…. it sounds like the selftitled slipknot album…… of course Mudvayne brought their own twist but they are as close to Slipknot in sound as Korn is to Coal Chamber….. anyway now on to watching the video XD
Never really got into the band… but those basstracks from Ryan are awesome and a joy to hear.
'Death Blooms' is easily one of their best song, to me.
Totally forgot about ‘The Beginning of All Things to End’ album….
Fuck yeah middle school for me LD 50!
I mean they ripped off slipknot sound who'd been doin it in Iowa for years b4 mudvayne
You're dead wrong…self titled is a masterpiece
