I have a evo 10 in a 5×5 and have never ran full power. The most I’ve used is 800 watts.
I got two spider farmer 1×2 lights. The 2k series. In have yet to even bother using the second. I just use it above my south facing window and sprout there in mid march and slowly bring them outside as it warms. Flowering now in mid may. Gives name two harvests a year, and a possible reveg period.
I bought that spider farmer light was supposed to be a 4 bar paid the price then they sent me that new 3 bar. I didnt have a choice I needed the light so i kept it but not to disappointed with it it grows some fire
i’m turning down my light lol
I got 300w in a 140 x 70 tent & I need MORE light !
Cheap VIVOSUN 400w for the win.. and we growing trees💨😂
Thank you so much for this one. It was extremely helpful!
Has anybody tried mirrors under the canopy instead of lights?
Medic grow lights are great and super affordable!
Great advice. I used to work at a commercial grow and we only had gavita LED and HPS lights. I decided I want to keep growing as a personal hobby and I must admit I was definitely looking at more light than I would ever need.
That being said lights dim over time. In the beginning you may never need to turn it up over 70% but eventually you may have to turn it up to 100% just to get what you used to get back at 70% when it was brand new.
If you are going to maximize your light usage along with supplemental CO2, your environment must be dialed and properly designed air flow through your tent is a must.
Some people state that Supplemental C02 ALLOWS you to run higher tent temps, but that's not fundamentally true. Running supplemental CO2 REQUIRES you to run the tent at a higher temperature in order to keep the stomata open.
The higher temperatures works perfectly well with a living soil grow. The higher the temperatures, the higher biological activity you're gonna have. I think some people make the mistake of not using leaf temperature when figuring VPD when running CO2.
With the environment in high gear, things can change quickly and demands from the plant increases. In Living Soil, I increase the top dressings by 20%. Keeping and maintaining a high microbial activity Is a absolute must. I make weekly 'witches brew' For an injection of microbes and to feed the ones already in the media. For a more sustained microbial feeding, I've been introducing small amounts of cooked rice mixed into my compost the top dress with. The microbes go crazy on the carbs and then the worms come along and eat all the bacteria on the rice.
And that's the best thing about growing in living soil, All I did was supply the materials at the appropriate time and the system took it from there. The plant takes what it needs, when it needs it, without any input from me.
I really don't think I would do it if I were a salt guy, that's just me though. I'm pretty sure it's just a simple calculation by the percentage of increase in the light over normal conditions, you increase the feed by the same amount.
I'd rather let Mother Nature make the decision.😎
I got a Sonlipo SPF 4000 pro last year for 200 bucks. I'm running it in a 4*4 and have zero complaints. Manufacturer states coverage of 5*5 veg, 4*4 flower. After listening to this, the multiple light setup makes perfect sense.
I buy my lights for the warranty, spread, and the ability to run it lower than max to not stress my diodes and driver. So I have an ac infinity evo 10, they answer and their warranty is great, the spread is edge to edge even in a 4×4 tent, and I can run it at 50%-70% during flower so my diodes don’t stress. Amazing results ever grow with it, tons of dense buds. But I used favens under canopy as well.
I have to give props, and a endorsement. Ive tried coco and nutrients, DWC, and it seems everything in between. Switching to soil, bottom warering, and Stash Blend have transformed my grow and the taste. 100% totally recommend using Stash blend and soil. Best grow ever, best growth period, superior taste. I wont do another grow without Stash blend.
Hey Brothers. Great show. I'm running a Vivosun AeroLight Wing AW200SE in a 3×3 Vivosun tent. Which is supposed to be the perfect size for my tent. I also upgraded from their 4 inch inline exhaust fan to their 6 inch exhaust to help with the extra heat removal. I can get the PAR readings up and not have to worry about heat buildup. I'm thinking of getting their Lumaray side lighting bars to get more light to the lower bud sites.
Love my photontek still
💚💚💚 Love these conversations…thanks for sharing! So much to learn and think about before I start popping seeds in the next couple years. 💚💚💚
Felt deceived when I bought the spiderfarmer g4500 thinking I was receiving the 4 bar 450 watts but got the 3 bar 320watts without the extension cord to remove the driver…I emailed 3 times without a clear answer…they should of changed the name to g3200 😆 🤣 😂
I stumbled across this channel searching randomly and then I recognize a couple of you guys that I watch or listen to and we learn how to grow. Just wanna say thanks for everything you do. I would love to get some one on one sometime if that’s available in this episode really answered a lot of questions for me and I’m gonna see if I need to make any adjustments now.
Hello friends, many thanks for sharing your expertise and thoughts!
Would someone kindly share their thoughts about lights for a 4×4 (120×120 cm) tent with a 2.95x.2.95×1.48 (90x90x45 cm) no till living soil fabric bed?
If you are already typing/thinking/typing I would also really appreciate your thoughts about using something like BildASoil/Sonnenerde/other ready-to-plant-mixes or mixing it myself.
I would love for it to be ital, vegan, organic medicine at the end.
Many thanks again as well as a most magnificent moment!
Most health, peace, love and happiness to each and everyone!

Even light distribution and coverage while being as close to the plants as possible is key in the smaller tent setups most home growers have. That's why imo I'd rather get lights with a spread out led footprint as close as possible to the tents dimensions and then dim them down to suite my tent requirements. It's a win win. More even light spread and a more efficient light with headroom for potential future expansion. LEDs are so affordable nowadays I really don't see any reason not to go about it this way.
I shared dissss vidya ehhhhhhhhhh
Thanks guys
Thoughts on the mammoth nova sun?
mm yes and no… i mean if you buy a model that cover all the grow area it better than a less potent model that its narrow to cover all the space.. its better run in a 2×2 a 300w that size 2×2 completly at 25% instead buy a 150w that has so less size that miss a 1×1 space
Led is killing it
Mars ts1000 is the way it does great in a 3×3 so I'm going to say it would be the same for a 4×4 that's why they are adjustable
Typically, if you get a bigger light and turn it down, it can provide a more even ppfd map at a better electrical efficiency. Subsequently, that makes temps easier to control and helps keep humidity in check as well. If you have the extra money, it's a worthwhile tradeoff sometimes.
Another awesome episode! I watch you guys almost daily just rewatching all of your vids to learn. Keep it up aaaand in order to support you guys (and make my life easier) i copped all 3 stash nutes! Waiting for my 2nd run to finish 🤞🏼 ✌️
Sounds like my 2 – 800 watt mammoth LEDs (2018 version) in veg I can't turn the light past 40 percent, but in flower I can amp it up to 80 percent without having to add co2. (Which I Ave 750ppm co2)
I got a crazy eddy deal on em 300.00 USD for three of these lights. I sold one for 150 and I've been styling since. Had trial and error for sure!
I used Chris's promo code on both my Chilled Tech lights. Bought them for the badass frame intending to get them serviced when the diodes dim or crap out. Learned my lesson! Still badass lights though.
The driver plays a big part, even if the diodes are the same. That might differ from brand to brand also.
Grazie mille per il suo aiuto per il lavoro che abbiamo avuto per la sua giornata e che ci ha permesso in the shower lol 😆 happy 420 ….i just hit the middle promp in el di una bella giornata e non si può mai fare nulla per.
I have the ionboard s24. Coverage is crap. Was looking at the mars hydro fc4000 or evo3. Any recomendation?
