29 thoughts on “We Made the Worst Gen Camaro Actually Good

  1. It was unfortunate for this car being so underpowered because of the strict 1980s emissions regulations, a shift toward fuel efficiency, and reliance on low-horsepower engines somthing these guy don't talk about here.
    Difference in the times here…

  2. Wow, that really was cringe AF. I mean, seriously WTF was that shit. If you really want to improve the handling on one of those, you need to do the bushings. If you're going to add more power of any kind, you need to rebuild the engine.

  3. I don’t care what anyone says about third gen’s. I love my 83 it was a factory 305 4barrel v8 paired to a 5 speed manual. It’s currently got a mildly built 350 in it now and I’m debating building a nasty 400ci small block or LS swap. Safe to say I’ve had my fingers on every bolt in that car and I wouldn’t give it up for anything

  4. The new wrap is cool looking but in the words of AC/DC we need to go back to Black. By the way, I may be the minority here, but I think this is one of the best looking generations.

  5. To say its the worst is to discredit how revolutionary the suspension was for the cams and birds at the time. Overdrive transmissions and eventually the fuel injection systems paved the way for the next 30 years of hot rodding and musclecar performance.

  6. I had an 84 RS with a 305 in it. It needed rings, I james bond smoke screened anyone behind me. Anytime I made a sharp left the carb would flood, the car would die and I'd have to wait awhile to go again.

It would catch second gear because that 700r trans was great lol.

  7. The ass of these could lose traction so easy, but they were still kinda cool. Had a dark blue with black hood scoop vent louvers on the lifted front hood scoop running down the center, black window louver on the rear window and that scoop down the center line of the hood with the V8. Was low to the ground too, course couldn't judge the curb when pulling up, always had to watch the front lower lip spoiler under the bumper didn't hit. Did love my 77 2+2 280z and 78 280zx more though
