  1. Bleaching out.
I was waiting for something like that.
I raised my 1000 hps from 30" to 45" away and the young inner leaves turned green within 5 or 6 hours.
A good place to start before adjusting the ph or adding or lowering nutrients.
They were malforming or crisping at the ends of the newest young broad leaves and I think it was from intense light.

They were also displaying that characteristic 'praying'' or cupping upward only after the light turned on each day which means they're too close to the light.

    Maybe over watering.
Could drill holes in the side of the buckets.

Or the malforming was possibly caused by reusing drip tray water once that tested at 8.3.
Irregardless of the high ph reading from the water that made it's way through the soil within minutes- I continue to water with 6.2- 6.4 water so the roots get that.
    It'll adjust slowly and
I hope that just exposing the roots to the right ph is fine.

When I was doing hydro and keeping it at 5.8-
when I raised it to 6.2 it became more robust.
Probably because I had 2 bubble stones in each bucket and the ph would drop a point overnight.

Sometimes down to 5.2 and that's a dangerous prospect so checking the ph was necessary twice a day.

Frequent potassium sorbate adjustments because of the high oxygen.
    until the fertilizer was eliminated.
Then it didn't take any ph up to raise it.
Then the flush period was free of potassium- lowering the chance of potassium poisoning by whoever consumes the product.

When my Godfather's trichomes turned cloudy- I cut the fertilizer completely and it took 5 weeks to see any amber but I stuck to the plain water and it was smooth.

I'm trying to eliminate as many variables as possible by using the distilled water and I'm hoping that Hydroponic Research doesn't do anything weird to their products.

I figure that a lot of stuff can accumulate in a plant over time just like boiling an egg using tap water leaves a white film on the pan.
Using distilled water can also be factored out as the cause of any nutritional deficiencies, off or unusual tastes or unintentional harmful effects on the user.

I use veg and bloom and stax.
Shine, life probiotic and I never foliar feed.

That life probiotic is suspicious to me.
It makes it smell like piss and when you eliminate it- you eliminate the bacteria mildew smell.
It's noticeable in hydroponic clay pellets that can't easily be replaced with fresh ones during the grow.
Maybe it's made using human waste from people working at Hydroponic research.
    I sure hope not.
You apparently don't need much of the stuff.

I think the 'push' foliar concentrate blocks light and burns the leaves.

  3. I'm a first time grower. I wish I had found you sooner! I'll be sure to follow your instructions for my outdoor grow in 2026. This year, I bought, germinated & planted 3 seeds. Only 1 survived but she's beautiful and I spend way too much time checking on her. I barely focus on my veggie garden now 😂

  4. HI MATE FROM AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺,
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHICH VARIETYS YOU HAVE MADE?,
I SAW UR INTERVIEW WITH DEREK GILMAN & YOU SAID YOU STARTED BREEDING WHEN YOU GOT INTO GROWING.
CAN YOU NAME 1 PLEASE SO I CAN GET IT ????
    THANKS

  5. Help!!! I'm having trouble with low pH. I'm using 2 table spoons per gallon after I put in floragrow and floramicro and cal-mag. After I put those three in the gallon of water the pH drops down to 3.1 . So then I add pH up but it doesn't go up. Any advice would help .
    Thank you

  6. Brother im almost embarrassed I havnt come across your videos..but everything happens for a reason and now the grows are improving and I'm past the toddler stage where I don't have to fuck with everyday, overwater them..learnt how to use ph and EC tools better, better Drainage, and going back to products that I relate to better, having some half decent seeds, observing how dialed in the the plant is to the light and environment at 25°C as opposed to mid 40s °C in my room..but now i feel your videos are perfect. With the amount of grow experience with different variables and styles you offer more than a black or white or yes or no answer and I can kinda tailor things to my grow or simply clarify a way I want to go based on explanations that are really humble and never over complicated

  7. I tried super cropping but ended up super snapping. lol. She took the beating well. Within hours, the tops were perked up towards my light. After a few days, she looks very healthy.

  8. I'm currently growing my third plant total and first photo ever, and it's Your (sort of) very own Strawberry Cough, specifically from RQS. Heard many good things about it, so I'm very excited for it. Just planted the seed into the soil a few days ago. I tried the paper towel method as well, but germinating directly in soil has worked great for me so far, so I didn't think much of it.

Thank you for Your insights and knowledge, and happy growing to all home gardeners.
