Peat moss mostly comes from Canada, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec and New Brunswick. I work for Premier Tech in Manitoba. "PROMIX"
so The ac infinity coco still needs buffered?
Thank you for covering up those knees
Can u go organic with coco? with top feeding and tea?
I've never used cocoa I've only used soil for cannabis one time though I've been growing in soil other things most of my 43-year-old life. I started off with soil because I figured it had some nutrients in it which was a good thing and cocoa didn't have nutrients and I would just have to give it more nutrients earlier on and that I could like save money using soil I didn't know that the plants got much bigger using cocoa because of the root thing that I just heard explained.😮 Thank you for that guys because that's the first great reason I've ever heard to use coco coir.
Cats iron their shirts for change??
I'm Australian and we have stuff called PineGro coco peat in 30L bags right out of the store, fantastic stuff. No salt, no washing and pre buffered.
I like you pigeon you’re my guy but during these conversations you need to be unbiased because you kinda damaged this episode bro, I wanted the knowledge nuggets that could of came from it if you wouldn’t have steered the conversation the way you did.
try “foxfarms” bush doctor coco-loco! Perfect for seed to harvest! Would love one of you OGs do a seed to harvest grow with it on YouTube! Coco coir/warm castings/perlite is my go to for seeds then transplant with coco-loco for the rest of the grow, add nutrients as needed. Or coco-loco the whole way through. Love the content learned a lot from you all. Always learning! keep growing!
Coco is way more sustainable than peat. Love yall❤
Hey yaw, this is going to help so many people avoid issues that are new. Trust me on this little bit here.
If you're using 10-30% worm castings in your coco/perlite medium, AND your coco is properly pre-buffered, use HALF dose or 1/4th dose cal-mag if you're using RO water. And if you're using tap then just pH down with citric or phosphoric acid. Don't add more cal-mag. Especially if your tap has 180+ TDS.
Why?? Because if you add full doses of liquid cal-mag WITH tap water you're essentially adding 2x doses. But wait doesn't coco need extra calcium?? NO. Fact of the matter is coco has extra high affinity for Ca ions. It will take up ALL the calcium you're adding and displace hydrogen ions from the cation exchange sites. What does this mean?? It means your pH is going to steadily climb higher and higher until it's 7.0 or higher. Most liquid cal-mag are calcium carbonate derived. But in this case its NOT even the carbonate that's the issue, it's actually the free calcium ions.
Remember what I said, if you're using 10-30% worm castings THIS applies to you. Why? Because worm castings are RICH with #1 nitrogen and #2 CALCIUM!! they are basically ALL N, Ca & some sulfur. That's primarily what you get from worm castings. So when your coco is already buffered and you combine that much castings, you WILL over do the CalMag if you're using tap water. If you're using RO, keep the ppm low. Because like I said the worm castings already provides PLENTY when combined with your dry amendments.
But more calcium is better right?? Not in this case. You WILL run into alkalinity issues which if you've EVER dealt with before with living soil, it's a dramatic problem. Elemental sulfur works too slow and has a negative effect on the redox potential in most situations, just trust me guys and girls. Trust me on this. 😅
For other people who are just using coco with dry amendments and aren't using 10-30% castings, yeah, you can probably get away with normal doses of cal-mag.
If anyone wants some extra help for their particular system (cuz everyone's system is unique) feel free to reach out email is nasonix AT Gmail
Cheers yaw happy growing
Tri-pod comment 😂😂😂
coco is very forgiving. you can fix most problems with in a couple days and poof ……back to schedule
Pet moss takes 100s of years to be produces pet is not sustainable at all really
I've been listening to all you guys on your own channels. I love when you guys sit down together, and bs. I get to feel like I'm there partying with you guys, laugh and learn. I didn't even know cats iron their shirts! I will patiently wait for a personal invite to join you guys on a session 1 day. Would be a cool experience! Keep it up guys!
Pigeons was a rock in the shoe of this episode…
I watered my clone n started to get droopy, and now I took coco from around the the stem to let dry and now it looks like it has transplant shock 😂 idk weather to water it or let it ride out. Anyone w feedback will be apreciated
I learned everything from guys like this , definitely helpful! I just wanted to add, that canna coco had worked out the best for me, it's probably most expensive, but its worth the extra money , dont skimp on the main ingredient to growing.
Stoked this popped up… just bought a 70/30 coco mix trying something different. I have the Athena Pro line – not the blended & was wondering how to go about using it by hand watering? Appreciate any advice💚
What if u mix coco and soil 3:1 I started 1 gallon soil transfer to 4 gallon pot with only coco
How many ppms would u feed in mid veg when they are under a 150w light no CO2, about a ft or more tall in 1 gal plastic pots in coco??
Coco for the win
I won a cultivator kit. Any reccomendations on how i treat autos with athena…..especially in the seedling stage. First run with coco n im intimidated.
Actually the seed has enough nutrients in it for the first 2 weeks after it pops out of the soil and or coco, after that is when you need to start feeding
I'm seeing this late, but getting 4 bricks of coco weigh nothing at all it's a laptop being delivered. Or a light meant for a 4×4 😂. But tbh buying backs to Canada for coco should be fired 20x for the purchase. But bricks give everyone the chance to grow is the actual better more sustainable period medium. There's always more and bricks are an option take it
Once you dig all the peat moss out it take hundreds of years to build up again coco is not being mined so its a better choice for the environment pete is running out in a lot of area's and you can use coco for many runs ive used it for 5 runs and just added a little fresh coco
As ive got old with a bad back coco is nice and light you can fill your 10 gallon pot and lift it so easy and when your finished leave it a couple of days and its so light compared to soil i grown every way and coco is really easy as long as you give them plenty of calmag soil is like 10 pounds heavier compared to coco ive always had good growth rate with coco probably a little faster then soil if done right
Two strains my mates like was strawberry banana kush and a purple buckeye cross Afghan kush that just two that friends want every time they come over out of the 8 or 9 strains Every pheno is slightly different so you have to be fussy to keep the original taste you liked as you know after a few runs they change and are different from the original strains
To prevent eggs from hatching, in any medium or soil, boil the water you hydrate it with and pour the water over the medium in a covered container to kill the eggs….etc…
