8. The TJ model is just too short and unstable to compete in steep climbs like that. I know, I have wheeled mine for 20 years. Even a 4” lift on 35’s is sketchy. The XJ’s have a longer wheelbase and lower center of gravity. If you want the traditional Jeep look, start with the longer wheelbase LJ. I wish I had bought an LJ instead, but I didn’t know better at the time.

14. @offroadrecoveryteam were the absolute stars this day. They jumped in and handled things so well in an emergency situation. Suzanne was amazing in her positive attitude in a horrible scenario as well.

20. I told that sorry felon Matt, he was going to get somebody hurt. That's 2 years in a row for a helicopter recovery. Last year, a member of the crew died, and this year, an amputee lost partial function of her only remaining hand. Events should be made for sponsored professionals, not the general public who doesn't know their limitations or skill level.

24. It felt as though the guy was setting us up to feel sorry for the chick, but all I feel is utter contempt for her complete stupidity.

25. Wish I could say I'm impressed but trying to offroad with a manual with only one arm is just an inherent safety hazard. Driving a manual on the road with one arm is bad enough.

31. Admire the want to do. But somethings just arent meant for some folks. A person without legs probably shouldnt run track. A person without arms probably shouldnt play basketball. Yes you CAN with help but sometimes its a know your limits..

32. The guide should have put a stop it. Why would you let people risk rolling 3 times down a cliff after you had already seen them having trouble earlier?

39. In road racing part of our safety equipment we have are arm arresters.
    They keep our arms and hands from flailing around if we roll or lose control.

    RaceQuip.

40. Matt at Matt's Offroad Recovery does some seriously sketchy stuff, things that are incredibly dangerous and downright stupid at time. Sending out someone from the other side of the country to "guide" a trail he's never driven has to be near the top of the list. Trail guides are supposed to know the trail and spend time pre-running it to know all the bypasses and the navigation. Sorry to his fans, but Matt is a clown; if you want a recovery by WOT and a snatch strap, he's the guy to call.
