45 thoughts on “Forget AI, The Robots Are Coming!

  1. There is an interesting episode one of many in The Orville. That episode explores ‘the robot’ or mass produced model. Worth understanding the lesson as that series really is the story of us and where it ends

  2. 23:53 I see YouTube forced you to show Your face in the episode to confirm you're not AI run channel. I guess is justified.I see this trend across many or all channels where we never got to see the creator even thou I've seen you before. Hello from Sydney😄

  3. I still wonder why Honda Asimo, which was at the forefront of this robotics experiment, suddenly changed the original vision for why Asimo was created. The Asimo that has inspired The children of the 80s and 90s generation have disappeared from view forever. What would the antics and behavior be like if Asimo still existed in the current era of robotics boom?

  4. I have doubts about the $6K price translating over to consumers. Even if that was the sale price, they would charge subscription to their AI update and verification services. This is the way software has gone. Even car manufacturers are inserting subscription models into their products.

  5. Given that I first heard about AI dangers when GPT was first released on this channel, and here we are a few years later, I'm already concerned as soon as I saw the thumbnail.

  6. So, we can put this much effort and create a robot that can help elderly people. But we cannot take care of the elderly people.
We are drifting so much away from nature. Earth bless us.

  7. No, these robots are many years away, just like Musks promises of self driving in 2016, and still, 9 years later self driving is very limited (though, it will come, but these things always take much more time than people think).

  8. Bots for factories, while the government suppresses other technologies that can alleviate suffering and lead to more discoveries while spending endless money on tech and continuing to cause people to live in poverty. Shame.

  9. It's all cool and fun, but there are a lot of questions that needs to be answered before robots like this could be something more than just a toy. How long they can work before breaking? How often do they require service? How much service and repair will cost? What will be the peoples reaction when accidents start to happen?

  10. why do people trust tesla's demo of optimus when they lied with their autopilot demo, it was all pre programed, actually the first time they shot the video the car ran into a fence, they've admitted this

  11. The two approaches of East vs West with robotics has a similarity to the approach of artists making clay bowls, in that the artist that makes just 1 bowl per month has less opportunities to learn from their mistakes when compared to the artist that makes 1 bowl per day.

  12. Any kind of household robot having full connection to internet sounds like the worst idea of all time. I don't want my Optimus to have hive mind, I don't want when 10 people in the other side of the planet uses their Optimus in a bad way, it contributes to my Optimus.
100% 24/7 internet connection is a bad choice for any device to be honest. Especially ESPECIALLY automated ones. Your goal for a HUMANOID HOUSEHOLD ROBOT should not be 0.01% hacking risk, it should be 0% exactly, period.
I hope I misunderstood, and they are not a hivemind in traditional sense.

  13. I think these robots will have to have limited interaction space due to security concerns. If people bypass their limitations and allow the robots to cause actions that might cause harm to humans it becomes a big problem. A lot of security work needs to happen to prevent dangerous situations.
