  1. It’s not an industry plant, he just got help from his cousin. Kendrick’s known for helping his friends get music deals. He even sat in the label meeting for Jay Rock

  2. I can't tell y'all didn't grown up in the MTV , BET era, if your sighed to a label, you're a plant. U get a team, a single, a look and a release date. Only an underground artist can be considered a non plant

  3. Sometimes I think about the bar on family ties about him saying he went to popeyes after school most days and damn he must have been living large to afford popeyes that often growing up

  4. Idc what anyone says, Baby Keem’s music is pretty damn good for a freshman. And just fyi- KDot made it clear he would only feature on Baby Keems’ album is if he wants to and is feelin the music to the track. You’ll hear that they switch from verse to verse, sometimes bar to bar. I think that’s why his songs blew up with Kendrick. Either way, I’m not gonna deny it, Baby Keem got a boost from Kendrick, but his recent album is pretty damn good. I’m not familiar with his old music, so I’m only coming from a recent standpoint and not from his entire discography.

  5. There's a difference between an industry plant and nepotism. Many people in most industries make sure that their friends and family have the resources they need to thrive.

  6. lets say if i was a talented football player and i was one of the greatest players, and my cousin wants to be like me i would help him as hard as i can. tf are people saying? is there a problem about getting help from a related person ?

  7. Bro I don’t see the problem here. When Keem was new he had a circle of good people, celebrities, and connections. When he dropped bangers, they expressed their support online, and encouraged him to keep making good music.

Why would he come out the gates saying he’s related to Kendrick Lamar?? Keem’s entire career would’ve been in Kendrick’s shadow.

  8. The difference between keem and other plants is that he makes music to sound good like dot and uses the skills gifted by dot to create that good music. Plus this shouldn’t be popularity contest if it’s good music it doesn’t matter how popular it is

  9. They were never close growing up. It was an awkward family situation. There’s an age difference. I don’t know why this is difficult to understand.

  10. I’m glad he saved his cousin from being swallowed by the labels. He’s signed to Pglang so he has maximum control and won’t be forced to drop and will also get his profits. It’s always better that way not many artists get that privilege so early on.
