15. Lots of incorrect info but mainly the Civic…no anti theft was added until 2001 not 1997. There is literally nothing different about a 97 vs a 96 or 98 Civic. Hence why people are still stealing 2000 Civics because 92-00 use the same exact ignition switch. 94-99 Integra also is the same. 00-01 Integra got the first immobilizer in the ecu but still easy to steal with an obd2b to obd1 jumper harness or just any 00-01 ecu with the immobilizer chip cut out.

20. About 20 years ago my friends used to make fun of me driving a 1999 mercury villager (van) when I was in college, but still driving it in my 40s today going on 260k miles. Absolutely no worry of getting it stolen. I sometimes even leave the windows open in the summers when going grocery shopping, and nobody gives a damn about it.

28. I’m a 3.7 Q50 owner, caught someone trying to take mine two weeks into ownership.. it’s really sad I love the car but I can’t sleep at night sometimes knowing how easily it can be taken with a flathead screw driver and a Chinese Autel kit ☹️

32. If you have a 2018 or later Hyundai Sonata this list does not include you. The easy to steal Sonatas are the ones with traditional ignition key/steering column lock. Sonatas equipped with push button start are not as easy to steal because they have an immobilizer built in. All you have to do is keep the key fob in a signal blocker to prevent thieves from using a signal amplify device to steal your fob signal. For added security I recommend using additional ant-theft devices such as the steering wheel lock club. The more difficult your car is to steal the less likely it will become a target. Strong anti theft procedures are the difference between your car vanishing in the night and it still being parked in front of your house in the morning.
