40 thoughts on “How Eminem Destroyed Benzino’s Reputation

  1. XXL's piece on the decline and fall of The Source is more informative. Like, The Source started out as a collective that would get collated and printed by Dave Mays. Unsigned Hype was a totally different guy than Dave Mays or Benzino (and a guy who had his legendary record collection stolen by RSO guys who walked into the Source offices with big black garbage bags and walked out with a Smithsonian of rare hip hop).

Dave Mays took to Benzino for… it's never really clear why, but suddenly he's in the faces of the reviewers saying his next album BETTER get a 4.5 or a 5. The reviewers were all like "if you want us to be rubber stamps, at least cut us in on the payola, or whatever it is you have going on with Benzino." So Benzino got the power to review his own albums.

This marked a huge talent exodus from The Source. It's a longer and more interesting story than just that part, although letting someone review their own albums is CRAZY.

  2. What reputation? Benzino the bully ego guy who couldn't talk to DMX one on one without 30 N-words behind him and still ran when knives came out lol smh who got checked by a white boy.

  3. HE WAS GIVEN PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT AS A WHITE MAN IN A BLACK CULTURE BECAUSE HE HAS LOVE FOR THE BLACK CULTURE, HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS WHO ARE BLACK, AND JUST A GOOD SOUL, REGARDLESS OF HIS HARSH RHYMES, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A TALENT LIKE THAT HOW DO YOU NOT USE IT?? AND IT MAKES YOU FILTHY RICH.

I DON’T SEE ANY WHITE PEOPLE MOANING AND GROANING ABOUT JIMI HENDRIX GIVEN PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT AS A BLACK MAN IN A WHITE CULTURE…. I’M JUST SAYING

  4. It amazes me when some of these hip hop artists blame the fans for ridiculously outrageous claims. If it wasn't for the fans, hip hop wouldn't exist. No form of musical entertainment would exist without its fan base. Music is entertainment for people, so the fans don't care about truths and morals or the past. The average music listener/music fan only cares about how the music sounds. Everything else is irrelevant to them when it comes to the "hip hop industry".

  5. Beno‘s got that Trump thing working, how can you be the world‘s biggest alpha but you’re the constant victim

Stop clout chasing and get a life

If you live off mention in another man’s name, then you really aren’t living your own life Bruh

From one older Boston cat to another

  6. Eminem is more than a good man. He likely brought it back up as a solid because he saw it strain b's relationship with his daughter. I'm sure the idea was in his mind. Em is a solid.

  7. Yeah if it wasn’t an almighty RSO ad then it was a huge 2 page Made Men ad which is another group Zeno was in and towards its last days of relevance their would just be straight up 1-2 page Benzino Ad

And these ads were huge I mean they ran the made men one years after the album dropped usually ads were for upcoming albums

And for the record none of those albums got 5 mic ratings I think rso album got like 3.5 mics and the made men got 4.5 mics and I’m pretty sure they never reviewed Benzinos solo albums just to be fair

Now the made men album was later uncovered to have been reviewed by someone who wasn’t real so someone just gave that album its high score also rso and made men were big groups I think 3 for mm and 5 for rso yet each album was full of big name MC’s and singing talent usually when you have a big group you keep the feature list super small or non existent but like ever track had either a jada or pun or Mobb deep or faith Evan’s or Scarface on it among so many others so you knew the group barely had time to even try to shine and each album was basically a compilation album at that point

  8. Never heard of this benzino mor*n. Also of coarse the fact that he sucks and Eminem raps circles around this clown, of course he pulled the race bullsh*t. Saying Eminem only got as big as he did cause he's white?? What a racist piece of sh*t
