I love John and have watched him on several podcasts over the last year or so but I am more or less flabbergasted at how a guy who is so well informed has such a bad read on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Putin hasbeen fairly steadfast forever on what Russia needed to settle and has only changed position as Ukraine has refused to concede more or less its loss to Russia, keep on fighting, and thus keep losing more and mire territory. Ukraine and the wests demand that a cease fire occur before peace negotiations advance is justridiculous given what has occurred in the past….at least twice peace agreements both sides agreed were to be finalized were just utilized by Ukraine and the west to buy time during the concurrent cease fires for retooling and resupply prior to recommencing military operations.
