Who is this 12 year old girl who has the soul of a 40 year old man?
Anyway, growing up, two of my uncles owned Mitsubishi. One had a CRT TV. The other had a 4 head VCR. Now you're telling me the also made cars… on the side?? WOW.
For those who may or may not be aware, ( as I worked for almost 20 years with a Caribbean dealer authorized by MMC of Japan), they only fell off, as after consecutive success of the WRC and dominating a space better than an most, with the only 5 seating 4 door sedan that could achieve 0-60mph times in the late 90s to do Under 5 seconds, they decided that they were no longer in keeping their Motor Coporation alive as it was not very profitable, 80% of their vehicles in the US mass market and marketing country of the world went as rentals, and because with a limited vehicle lineup, they had things Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Truck and Bus, Bank Of Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi Electronics, and they no longer saw it as profitable and sold a stake of the business to newer vehicles you see today partnered with Nissan. Basically, they did not need to sustain the division globally and took a financial decision. They created a lot of undefeated models, Pajero/Pajero Evolution, The Sigma (Flagship Sedan), The FTO, The GTO (known in America as the 3000GT or Dodge Stealth who bought the designs from them), and many others. Had they been loved more by Americans when they were killing it, I can only imagine what they’d be doing today if they were 100% owned and operated running a competition. Proud to have worked with this Brand, and went on to Ford, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Honda. Also the Eclipse could be more similar to the JDM FTO. The FTO was MIVEC (similar to Honda VTEC), where there were Galant variants with the same engine 2000cc MIVEC with 197hp (JDM Galant Version known as VR-M), but most importantly one as the Galant versions came none of the JDM powerplants came like VR-4. The VR-G came gasoline direct injection and the VR-4 was a 2.5 liter v6 Twin Turbo 4WD, that was basically an Evo Galant. Many were not sold through the Caribbean dealer with the main performance cars being the FTO and the Evolution models, including the Tommy Makinen version on Special order. There were even Lancer (called Mirage in the US) came with the JDM versions of Lancer6, a 1.8 liter V6 Lancer, yes, and the Lancer MIVEC, basically a Civic Sir Competitor, both versions stock faster than the US Civic Si. What a brand…
bruh😂
Its a very sad state of affairs when my 20 year old Mitsubishi 380 beater sedan is pretty much faster than anything Mitsbishi sells brand new here in Australia (a sea of underpowered SUVs and asthmatic Utes with tiny diesel engines), with only the Hybird version of the Outlander (med size SUV) having a similar acceleration power.
Jimmy looks like a toddler in those big wing back seats. lol
I feel so bad for Mitsubishi
But it is building back 😀
No one would lend them a VR4 😅
Dude just sidelined the 3000gt and fanboyed over fast and furious evos……….
I am not even gonna say anything else lol
Mitsubishi doesnt focus on american market anymore. But in asia? Mitsu is still IT!
Mitsubishi Strada pick up truck
You guys compare jdm sportcars vs family suv
I owned a 91 Eclipse GSX, a 97 Eclipse GSX and a 2005 EVO MR. All were great cars!
Did you really skip over the history of them building airplanes that then bombed Pearl Harbor? You mentioned that their factories were bombed in WW2, but why did you skip the reason why they were bombed? I don't hate Mitsubishi, but I definitely dislike how that fact was skipped.
The latest Outlander may be a 21st century Edsel. Not pretty.
mitsubishi was undermined by the american government like much of japans tech and other industry in the 70s and 80s and 90s , esp by the us oil giants since they were actually gonna do electric cars in the late 80s and early 90s
for fks sake replace this glasses guy with someone else, his face is so off putting with that big ass mole on his cheek
The Evo and gallant vr4 weren't born without the starion, Mitsubishi originally intended to use the starion and actually developed the awd system and 4g63t for the starion but last minute switched to the galant and shrunk it for the lancer and stuck the awd and engine in it and the rest was history
How is the engine scoring? Have you checked through the bores?
All we wanted Subaru & Mitsubishi to do is to keep the STI and the EVO alive. It really wasn't too much to ask was it? Other companies are making 2.0litre perfomance cars very well with no issues. Golfs are selling well, Hyundais, Benzes etc
"A path to electrification"…yeah that sounds like a great idea mitsubishi, cash in on that electrical success of all the other failed car models that barely anyone buys cause they dont want some neutered computer on wheels…derp…
After having serviced a few eclipse crosses, I have dubbed them….
E-clips , due to all the plastic clips you have to remove bellow to remove the plastic cover to drain the oil and change the filter.
Do not trust any of them
Every day we stray further from god lmao
forgot how they designed everyone of the fighter type aircraft for the japanese including the ones used for pearl harbor
They better make a truck
The last time I was in a Mitsubishi was to tear a TCI unit from a minivan to use in a motorcycle 😂
Mitsubichi senpre😂😂😂
This video sums up car industries. Cars WERE cool.
Eclipse 1999-2000 GTR/GT was my first dream car…
the AWC Technology on mitsubishi cars are actually awesome and that car has it
Y'all didn't even talk about the Delica…..
I owned a 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The biggest POS car ever! Imagine replacing the entire suspension on the car and it still feels like you are driving in the Australian Outback even though you are on smooth pavement.
i like Jimmy's Tshirt's words "to the extreme"
Jimmy probably drove the fastest he’s ever done when he was driving alone in that eclipse alone😂😂😂
At 0.53 you see why it has the name it has!!!!!! So cool history!!!!!
The old lancer is still being manufactured in thailand I think y a company that bought the rights to build them on the same specs
Pajero means wanker in Spanish
I think we can say that car growth (turning into SUVs) has hit ALL carmakers. Mustangs are now SUVs. Outbacks are huge. I'm surprised Corvettes are not 8 feet tall.
Sucks seen great Japanese manufacturers such as Mitsubishi Nissan and Toyota Honda sticking to their performance cars instead moving away and just making family cars and suvs.
80s and 90s these cars where making amazing performance cars
Now all you see is cheap made ugly family cars 😢
Supra looks awesome but end of the day it’s a BMW
I currently have the Pajero Fieldmaster and still works flawlessly
the Mitsubishi mirage used to be a slick little 2 door coupe that at least looked like it lived up to its name
now it's a block of cheese.
Eclipse Old : We Have Aggresive, High Performance Cars. —–> Eclipse Now : We just made a family with little baby cars 😂
I’m sorry but the eclipse cross is not that bad you guys are so spoilt it is just a family car they can’t make a beautiful EVO good car forever it is just not how that works
Crazy part the eclipse in fast and furious was fwd 420A
they need to come out with another lancer 🙁
I always get compliments for my 4G eclipse GT.. i have one of the last I see left on the road.. don't hate on my "blobfish" lol
I’m 12 mins in and I still don’t see a 3000gt 12:48
Mitsubishi should bring back the evo and the eclipse those where the two cars that made mitsubishi popular
Go drive all the years over jetta please I beg you
