Most Europes museums are full of stolen art. And just like in music, sampling is allowed in all art forms, nothing is truly original. This is a bit harsh, feels a bit targeted too
DEI designer. The main reason he got so much praise and recognition was because of his blackness, not talent.

I had a graffiti artist friend, now a former friend, who was exactly like this.
Ripping styles, and eventually took it to the restaurant world, and creates restaurants from other people's ideas.
His biggest strength is the people around him. They basically sponsor every one of his ideas, not knowing he's ripping off projects using Pinterest.
This is common in every aspect of a market. If there's money, there's a leech.
Don't forget that the fashion guy in Kanyes circle was Don C. Everything Virgil did was directly influenced by Don C.
So Virgil basically did what Dapper Dan kinda used to do back in the day but on a higher level. 😂
Some people will ignore everything about a person just because of their skin color. And its both sides. No white person wants to call him out because they know the internet will just blame it on racism. No black person wants to call him out because then they arent supporting a "brother". So Virgil just got to make bank off of other peoples designs and hard work.
If Virgil did anything it was open the door for luxury brands to rip off of streetwear brands cuz that’s what they’re doing now.
And people are still gonna buy it…
Many people get scammed by “big brands” these days 😂😂 and I don’t know if they don’t realize or just stupid to not care about it. And some of the richest men in the world are from fashion
I'm a designer & cultural researcher. This is literally VA's reflection if you strip off the intellectual aspect and just look at the surface level production – his work at LVMH, fashion + architecture, his bigger democratic vision. If you read every interview – I have – this is not a true 100% reflection of where his vision was, and what the real industry designers see through his designs. This youtube video was created to gain traction for social media.
You criticize him but ironically, he was one of few designers in the world who had a creative vision that stood with the PUBLIC. DO your research. Look at every other designers at Kering & LVMH. LV, Gucci – No one spoke of anything near what he was brining to the table. Just disappointing that you trash talk about a designer that you don't care for.

virigil is a trash designer, most people have forgotten about him and off-white is sold for fodder, but it's Ye's own fault he didn't get hired at LV.
