It puts the focus on the weapon that was used rather than the actual issues that led up to the killing and the context of why it happened. You know the actual thing that killed the person, GANG VIOLENCE. It puts a microscope on a side effect of Gang Violence, the shootings, rather than any sort attempt to actually address the root of why victim was killed, Gang Violence. Pure and simple. But if the media can make it sound like the killing had more to do with firearms then you may just be able to convince misinformed and uninformed voters into voting for even more strict gun laws, effectly making the ability to exercise our 2nd Amendment Right such a hassle that people don’t even bother, in places that already have some of the most strict gun laws in the nation. Ironically, those same cities have the most shootings of anywhere else in the nation(potentially the whole planet of you if your really think about it). Wanna know what else those same cities have along with the most strict gun laws, lowest legal gun ownership and the most shootings? The highest concentration of Organized Crime, and they obviously don’t follow gun laws because why the fuck would they? Living that kind of lifestyle almost necessitates carrying a firearm.
