I swapped a rear diff on my 02' WRX in my apartment driveway. Before I bought The WRX I looked at a Supra and a NSX. Back in 2001 these cars used weren't that expensive. My then wife said why are you spending that much on a used car when you can buy a new one. No longer with her.
I helped host that convention in Portland, and your right. Nobody in their right mind, wanted to be in downtown Portland at that time. Hope to see you in Dallas later this fall.
Awesome story! I really enjoyed this one!
In Australia these are the Honda NSX and been a Honda these are a reliable super car apart from a split in the CV joint and a lot of support from the NSX community all fixed in a couple of hours and over 300000 miles for a European supercar that's a lot but not for a Honda NSX that's nothing l do consider Honda one of the best motor manufacturers in the world
that Oregon Raceway track is nowhere near Portland lol
This- is what it's all about, people.
I see Richard’s stories, I post “like”. I remember when this happened. I’m simply glad that when I passed you in Oregon en route, your NSX was moving.👍🏽 PS the best time to break a NSX is en route, or at, NSXPO🤣.
Can't beat the car community to come together when someone needs a hand.
This is a great story and awesome use history of this car ❤ you love to hear it
This is partly why I want an NSX some day. No Ferrari I know of is going 300k miles.
Aww bruh……cool story 💯💯💯💯.. Continue…
Always love seeing Greenwood Roadway getting some screen time!
Sun block.
Much is said about how the NSX compared to ferrari (and other super cars in general) and the corvette at it's launch. But if any of those cars of the same era had an issue like that mid ralley it would very likely have been the end of the trip.
These are the stories that are the greatest.
I want to see this guy to do a tour of his toolbox in the NSX.
Greenwood Roadway!!
great story. the only thing i dont understand is why didnt you put a tow basket with a spare set of tires on the back so you don't have to track your daily tires. it shows how community support goes a very very long way
Love the Rallying support from the NSX owners. Reminds me a LOT of the Subaru community. They often toss parts at each other expecting nothing in return, EVEN when they are actually competing against that person in a rally stage. Could sit on their parts and such and let the other person just drop off the leader board but no, they give them parts and hope they can race at their best. The Real People… You know who you are. Much love.
Good to have good friends! Need some sunscreen! LOL!! Great video!
1:59 wojak incoming
You say you are arriving in Morrow, but the photo is of McMinnville 225 miles away.
Of course! It’s an easy fix Honda 😉
What an epic story and awesome people in the community. This is real car culture.
Well that was truly another Epic Story on Vin Wiki
Oh no, its "Mr. Can't…..Not…..Look…..At…..Camera". 😵💫🤣
Anyone know what hole Rabbit has been hiding in?
AAHHH NSX still my dream car!
Thanks for having us back in the hot seat! I don't expect any awards for a relatively minor fix (albeit in a non-traditional workspace), the real story is that the NSX community is awesome and helped us go from limping to hot-lapping in less than 48 hours, 2300 miles from home. You buy an NSX because the car is awesome, you keep it for 15+ years because the people are awesome (I mean, the car is still fun too).
Ed, youtube is unsubscribing people from vinwiki, im not quite sure why but after 3 years ive literally been unsubbed and had to resub. Regardless, Always love the great work and stories you guys do and tell, and cheers to more great videos❤
I’ve been thinking to rent one of these in Japan at March, or the RX7 ?
Penile
Love seeing this!
When I was staff photographer at Road & Track back in the 80s and 90s, I drove an NSX to Fort Stockton from SoCal for our World’s Fastest Cars article, and to drive on Firestone’s test track there. I drove straight through and when I arrived, I was surprised how comfortable that car was on such a long trip! These are amazing cars and since it’s a Honda, I’m not surprised to see so many miles on them after all this time.
Think about how soft we are when changing a CV boot and putting new tires on a car gets its on YT video….soft
my son and I have been talking abouthe NSX a bunch lately. Thank you VINwiki
It's a Honda! You got a left hand hammer and metric crescent wrench, you're fine!
