I feel like his nomination was a ploy to generate outrage and desensitize the electorate to other outrageous candidates. He stepped down from congress to avoid the release of the ethics investigation while pretending to be a viable candidate for AG. Then he bows out of that to go into lobbying and make big money. Trump gets to nominate other clowns and pretend that it was due to cancel culture or undue outrage. He turns his cabinet into a wretched hive of scum and villainy and dumb people cheer him on.
