to that young lady, keep your head high, continue to do what is right
another example why people do not trust police. Disgusting behavior, instead of encouraging responsible decisions, they make every effort to condemn and punish. Pathetic.
4:43 The brake lights and the license plate light being lit do NOT prove the keys were in the ignition because both these lights work without the keys simply by stepping on the brake pedal and turning on the lights. No key is necessary. That said, you are correct in that the keys were most likely in the ignition.
She did everything right, sad allowed to call a friend or family member to pick her up. 😮
It's not the spirit of DUI. Sitting in your car and not wanting to drive intoxicated is the right thing to do. They just showed everyone that doing that will still get you nowhere and that you should probably take the risk of driving home rather than sitting in a parking lot and getting stopped by a cop
A decent cop would have told the girl that what she was doing was still technically illegal, then let it go because she was trying to do the right thing.
Police mentality is: Them Vs. US, Warrior mentality, what can we "get them" for, ruining someone's life because a technicality allows you to is a good night's work!
When it should be: Protect and serve, use the law with discretion to ensure public safety, savior mentality, be part of your community- not against it.
More and more videos come out like this and the gap between community members and police widens. This girl did not seem too concerned when the police first approached. She likely assumed that she would be treated fairly with understanding and compassion. She now knows better. One more on our side, at least. Something has to be done. The police are getting out of hand with this "Let's get em" when no one is doing anything intentionally wrong and no one is harmed.
I get the technicality but these cops hearts are hardened rocks.
Edit: spoke too soon. I didn't realize she was under age. Get her for that, but not the DUI. That's kinda lousy.
So… She did the right thing by NOT driving, and she's in school. You wanna wreck her life. Make her insurance skyrocket for years and pay fines… Hmmmm. Your'e a nice person. Give me a break. Go find a real crime jerkoffs

> Drink enough you fall asleep in your car
> "NO we DONT do drugs"
??
I thought if you were underage it was an automatic DUI? Anyone know?
Can they impose a charity donation as a punishment?
It just horrible.
Bottom line cops just suck. This trend is just gonna grow and people are going to become more violent with the police.
PARKING LOT. By the mere fact that she was parked in a parking lot is prima facia evidence of the car at that time not being used as a motor vehicle.
Here is what motor means: giving, imparting, or producing motion or action.
So wrong!
😮😮😮 "Guilty until proven innocent." if you are under the influence of alcohol and sitting in the driver's seat!!!
This MUST BE TAUGHT in driving school or driving courses! 👎
More free money being given away
If the penalty for driving is the same as not driving, what is the deterrent?
Ridiculous
This is why I giggle like a school girl when they get clipped " protecting and serving "
