  1. Nooooo! "Level the playing field" with a technology that everybody has is a participation trophy. The advantages of the internet are vast in communication and facts of life, but not competition. For example, I bought recently a compressor to start work on my cars and not rely on mechanics, to "get ahead". The person at home depot told me they were flying off the shelves. I graduated with a physics degree and may not know when something is brilliant, but I do know what average is.

  2. I've been applying for job after job after job and it's all down to experience. The least amount of experience I've seen is 1 year commercial experience – how is anyone able to get a job if they don't even have any experience. Most businesses just don't want to give someone a chance and most jobs can be taught with the employee having just the standard level of education.

    PS Zed not Zee

  3. As a Gen Xer I was always worried about loosing my job to Gen Z when I got older. Due to Gen Z being the most unemployable generation, due to their poor work ethic, poor computer skills, poor ability to be at work on time and getting work done on time, costing 3 times more than any other generation to train, and they are just an emotion basket case. Us Gen X have a better chance of keeping our job in our later years.

  4. 39 yo millenial here. I didn't have any significant savings until age of 34. It was a constant survival, moving jobs and from places to places for better opportunities.
Because I had it hard, I do not think that it should be hard for younger generations also. We should improve as a whole.

  5. In 2012 my friend and I got 2 bedroom apartment for 650 a month in a college town. Thats 325 each. 900 dollars a week for a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 people to share is outrageous.

  6. The guy who comes up with this generation _ crap also comes up with these crappy car names…..I think that there is no Gen Z or Gen B or whatever and that you can't make stupid predictions because it's not Gen Z but individuals. The boy with rich parents goes to a good university and gets a job and will never be poor, the other has no parents and no chance of going to a good university and will therefore be poor…..

  7. Not Gen Z echoing what millennials said over a decade ago and acting like it's their own uniquely terrible extra special generational problem while they still have living and working parents lmao like…….just wait

  8. My son who is a Gen Z lives at home. He doesn't have any educational expenses. IMO, Tertiary education is over rated and over priced. He has learnt more from educating himself by reading books, researching into industries that he really likes and networking on social media. He bought some BTC a number of years ago and more recently bought Tesla shares. There are lifechanging opportunities with each generation, if you recognise the future. You only needed to see the rise of Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon with the last generation to understand that AI is upon us and for the future generations to come. Most of the previous Tech darlings will be laggards compared to Tesla's growth rate over the next few years. Make the most of the opportunities you have.

  9. Some people don’t understand it’s hard to be the best employee you can be when you have such little hope for the future.
So many people are just “go go go”. No free time, just work and sleep and eat and work and sleep and eat. Its hard to operate like that for long. Humans need down time.

  10. Im gen z but I've never taken part in quite quitting. While I would love to I have a fear that if I do that the companies I work for would feel less inclined to keep me around and thus fire me the moment I make even the smallest mistake. I don't really have any qualifications other than my work experience as I've been working for a bit longer than most gen z but I don't know if that's enough to guarantee another job should I lose my current one. I can't afford to be unemployed since I live in a very expensive state. So I just keep my head down and do anything that is asked of me. It's so bad that I feel like I can't even take a day off so I often come in even if I'm sick which is very problematic since my job is a highly physical job. The payout isn't super great either and I'm mostly living off expired ramen that the freight department of my company gets rid of and several eggs i bought from costco. Honestly I think I'm knocking off years of my life living like this. Despite all of that bullshit I was lucky enough to be born into a very big and loving family so I still think I have it better than most gen z

  11. I’m 23 years old still living at home I’ve been trying to save but every time I try to get something for myself, it ends up being 100+ dollars just to get basic necessities and then rent is so damn high I have to have friends to share rent with, but most of the friends I know don’t wanna move or already moved and somehow never got screwed cause their parents took care of all the costs.

  12. Gen Z is just innovating and adjusting while everyone is labelling or judging them because they don't want to change , accept change or adapt. I support Gen Z as a Gen Xer because I am continuously learning how to innovating , creating and adjusting with the world in order to stay relevant personally and professionally.

  13. I feel like a revolution around the world will happen within the next decade. Billionaires are richer than ever before and hoarding assets and riches. Whereas the issues from the opposite end is spreading into the middle class. Housing markets disproportionately favours the landlord. Inflation is rampant. I feel all this in Asia too.
Governments are not strong enough to stop this divide. So the people will rise up sooner or later.

  14. It mostly comes down to this: If you're already tight on money and looking for a job but need to take a, "mental health" day off because you didn't feel at the top of your game or got, "Offended" because the interviewer didn't ask you what your preferred pronouns were then you can't blame the system.

  15. You haven't taken into consideration all those immigrants they are using the prop up the market.
Gen z is going to have to remove them for another chance to buy a house.
Be today, be later. Its either you or your kids that wont have a house.
