What happens when you overheat an engine? We pushed our BMW’s engine to the limit, then took it apart to assess the damage of an overheated motor.

  1. Very interesting video! Since I just overtemped my wife’s Subaru Outback on a 9-hour-drive, holiday roadtrip! 😢 Car is great and found a great mechanic, but I am really wondering if the engine can be properly fixed. We love that car, and would hate to see her go, so just wondering… can you guys REBUILD your high-performance engine to an acceptable level (maybe not for racing anymore, but acceptable). That would make for another super interesting vid and would restore my faith on the Subaru Outbacks engine repair (or not).

  2. Overheated my integre. Rod #4 started telling a knock knock joke and that Rod bearing seasoned the oil. So… I bought wiseco pistons, manly rods, forged crank, twin disc clutch, steel flywheel, springs and retainers, cams, 1200cc injectors, hellcat fuel pump, and a gtx3584🙂

  3. Come on guys, let's get the boys new channel BIG TIME, over 1,000,000 subs.!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!!!!!!!!!@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Ik I'm a bit late to this, but I would genuinely love it if you could throw up more direct video comparison of the same tests but on a "good" engine. Like what does that water leak test look like on an engine with totally acceptable amounts of leakage so I can physically see how bad this one is, for example. Would greatly improve my ability as a viewer to relate with the content.

    LOVE what you guys do!

  5. I dunno why I love that you cut the music out and just had the boys’ arhythmic engine-bongos playing in the background for a bit, but I do.

Props to the editor, you got a genuine, big ass smile out of me (on a day I really needed it)

  6. If you used an iron head, would that then warp less and tend to warp with the block? So then the problem is just with valves and the head gasket blockages? Can those also be upgraded to handle the heat?

  7. There's good news and bad news…

The good news is that YOU GET A NEW ENGINE!!!!
But that's also the bad news because you need a new engine…..

  8. The thermostat actually regulates temperature, without it your motor takes longer to heat up but it will also overheat since all the coolant/water in the system is able to pass through and since you have no temperature control the pressure causes it to overflow into the header tank and out the breather tube.

  9. i have a question. when you were testing the valves for the air bublle leaks, since the valves arent connected to anything on the bottom wouldnt the air leak anyway due to the air pressure pushing them up
