Plain and simple, if you’re not giving 110% get the hell off the stage! Period! One more thing if you can’t play or sing at your full potential, it’s time to retire or find a new career.
Boy I watched a few video from a show Mudvayne just did in Daytona Beach and they had backing tracks, lol. Either that or they had some rando off stage doing it cuz the parts that the guitarist used to sing were being heard but he was no where near a mic, neither was Ryan and the drummer was headbanging and clearly not singing into a mic either. The backing vocals on Not Falling had no visible person doing them. I get Chad's voice is torn up and he's also 20+ yrs older and has consumed a ton of booze and whatever else which would do damage to his vocal cords but no one would be pissed if he used backing tracks for really minor parts although it seems unneccessary when the other band members who used to sing them still could
"you can't have a guy on stage making beats or whatever"…tell that to Liam Howlett, Crystal Method, Cirrus, Gravity Kills, etc. They did live PA's and while some of it is preprogrammed but they still do a ton on the fly.
Falling in reverse ran out of drugs 🖕
I kind of prefer the more polished sound it brings. I seen a bunch of metal bands the other night and none of them used them. Couldn’t understand one fckn word coming out of the screamers / singers mics. At least do it for the vocals ffs
You can absolutely have a DJ on stage making music with the band. Falling in reverse are just making excuses and in essence, ripping off fans by giving them a fake show.
Coming from a guy who is horrible live and is out of breath before the first song even starts.
Maybe someone should call out Chad for abusing cheeseburgers. They need to change their name from Mudvayne to Cloggedvayne
I'm still just astonished that anyone would come up with as stupid a band name as "Falling in Reverse." That is without a doubt the weakest band name I've ever heard. Falling in reverse lmao
Give me the real show!!!
How bout some new mudvayne? This decade would be cool, before they all die of old age, me too lol
Falling in Reverse is actually a really good example of a band that is almost entirely a construction it's not like those dudes are ever going to break off and start riffing out but that's not what Their audience wants either
It's a double edged blade when half your music is prerecorded. Just like how backing tracks can do things to your music that's extremely cool it is equally lame as fck when you can't play a show because your laptop is broke/stolen.
Mickey Rourke is cool
Might as well stay home and listen to a CD.
I've just watched multiple videos of him needing to use vocal tracks along with his live ones. He stops singing yet the lead vocals keep playing haha
Its all coming down to a lack of integrity ,this was never supposed to happen in our metal community
The difference between a band and not a band. Best examples of real live bands: 311, Mike Patton involved bands, SOAD, Kyuss, QOTSA, Opeth, The Lot Lizard from Seattle, etc.
It the imperfections of it like people say imperfection is beauty
I have no problem with bands doing it so long as they're not deceptive about it. If a band has a backing track to fill out the sound, no big deal (Rush did it all the time), just don't have someone onstage pretending to play.
lip syncing and vocals? NO.
using SOME musical sounds in the background, i dont care.
You should NOT USE backing tracks !! If you can't play live don't play live !!! And if you can't sing without music ! You can't sing !!!!! Play live or stay home and use your sorry laptop
As a rock/metal guitar player for 30yrs they good to practice with but that’s about it
100% Agree with Chad, also Mudvayne is still one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
i strongly agree, at least for the most part. i think certain elements are ok for backing tracks. ya know like synths, keys, strings, stuff like that. but once you have a LEAD vocal comin through the speakers, man, just go home. that goes above and beyond any def leppard or motley crew shenanigans. it literally takes every last bit of intrigue away from the performance 100 percent. and if you think that's bad, most hiphop artists these days are even worse. they literally just play the whole track, and act as a hype man on their own songs. it's gotten out of hand and it makes me sad for the future of music.
Personally, when I go to see a show, it already sounds shitty enough. Don’t strip away the electronic sounds and the textures that give the songs more life.
If you’re full blow playing the song, that’s trash but if you just have sounds here and there that’s perfectly fine to me and actually preferred for a better sound experience
It makes me appreciate Devil Driver's End Of The Line. They wrote the intro knowing full well they couldn't do it live with only two guitarists so they don't try to fake it. Nobody is even on stage when it starts 😂
I think the misconception is that some people think backing tracks include pre recorded guitars, vocals, etc.
While there is some bands that do that, a lot of them are just for the electronics and beats. I personally dont mind them and i think they actually add to the show sometimes. Its truly all personal preference
I saw mudvayne on the Rob zombie freaks on parade tour. They could have definitely benefited from some backing tracks 😬 that was one of the sloppiest messes of a set I’ve ever seen on an amphitheater stage.
I would just like to say Falling In Reverse is trash
