Throughout history, creating a complete piece of music has always been a human process. There have been attempts to compose and render songs using computers before, but frankly they weren’t great.
Today, that all changes with two AI music platforms. Udio and Suno. In this episode, we’ll take a look at both and talk to experts like Rick Beato to see what this means for the future of the music industry.

Can't believe people think AI will "change everything" and make humans obsolete. Loads of stuff has "changed everything" claiming to make humans obsolete. I'm remain unconvinced. Nature has been around a lot longer than this BS ever will be.

AI art tho is still garbage … the lack of soul in AI paintings just comes thru all of that stuff. AI music … a bit ordinary.

People will still be free to create music and art, it just won't be for commercial purposes. People that make music because they enjoy it will continue to do so. People that do it for money and recognition will be the ones who lose out
AI is too late. Autotune, rap etc already ruined music.
There will always be musicians. Just like there will always be calligraphers.

Did no one take any notes from the terminator movies? It can happen so easily. Soon, our planes will fly Ai. Our airforce. Once we create cyber warfare with Ai, it's all over. We have a maximum of 5 years to do something. Greed from big corporates racing to be the first will doom us all.

Auto-tune and simple artists like Taylor Swift, Bieber, Kanye, Drake.. made this switch to AI generated playlist possible. SInce 2005 modern music is as soulless as it could be.
Why don't artist vote for other party from u.s. why the hell us government allowed this suno and udio? The party that will shut down this ai music . We will vote for them ….. Why don't they just replace politicians by ai..?
give it a little more time! This is really a problem for all artists! I don't think there's much we can do. The music industry was already crappy after Napster..the death of cds, then Spotify royalties and play revenues..now this? it's just getting too much to bear. I wonder why should we keep trying? it's really serious.
I bet they're already musicians pumping out lyrics or albums really that they don't have the skills to, and then cover those songs live, I mean who can tell? I struggle with a blank paper to write lyrics, come up with the music and putting stuff together..now you can only be a cover artist ..hell..you don't even have to be a musician at all. Im not against technology, but this crosses the line. And I don't believe there's a law that can control this from happening.
They could backup automatically every AI generated music and use the existing means for copyright control scanning..but how about I record the song generated all over on reaper and then upload to CDbaby?
this os "cheat gpt" and no way to know. A band can release 6 albums a year or 2 each month while the honest guy will come up with one, maybe two in a year if they're really inspired. Not fair and quite horrifying for us all.
Disconcerting hearing Rick Beato, financially-successful musican before AI, say it'll be fine. Struggling musicians? Mehhh
The only future music of any integrity will be a person with an acoustic guitar playing pre-AI covers in a pub.
We still have the aspect of songwriting when it comes to music.
Take just anyone of all brilliantly written songs ever and then have AI create a song that is anywhere near as good songwriting wise.
Could AI create a song like Under the Bridge by RHCP for example? Could that song just as well have been created by AI?
AI is just that, AI. Artificial. Not the real thing.
I think I needed that spelling out to me in no uncertain terms, many of the hot takes on this seem to have an element of denial.
Listen, throughout the history of mass media, from Gutenberg on, technology has replaced artists. The printing press replaces scribes, the photograph replaced painters, TV replaced plays, and so forth and so on. But art itself remains. Photography shifted the emphasis of visual arts from depicting life realistically to the actual art of photography, which is all about what you photograph and how. The movies replaced theatre, but became an entire art form of its own. And almost always, the doomsayers are wrong. These mindblowing programs – I've played around with Sona myself – will, i am sad to say, put a hell of a lot of session musicians out of work. But they will create a whole new wave of composers who would never have been able to make it past the gatekeepers in the music industry.
In short, relax. It seems bad now. But we will survive.
What people dont undestand by saying they will still play their instrument or learn to sing even with AI….
Is why the next generation will do it ? IF you cant make any money OUT of it ANY CARRER because your proffesion has been completely devalued by machine why are you gonna spend your life and energy to do it ?like agriculture has been or handcrafting ?
I saw less and less kids that want to learn an instrument nowaday more than ever in human history and pretty soon will be the same with real singing and even lyrics making has AI make cheaper and quicker Poem than everyone of us by just stealing us and art history data directly and play "random" button …that basicly what Ai does…
Playing instrument or singing will be irrelevant the same has going fishing in your lake or growing vegetables in your garden for the next future…a small porcentaje of population yes and not a necesity just a hobby…
