13 thoughts on “Calling from rehab

  1. Idk why I'm going to bother typing this, but whatever. Here's a weird thing in society. People, for the most part, react more positively to someone who got clean by their own sheer willpower instead of rehab. But here's the catch. Lets say, hypothetically, you throw 12 years down the toilet for heroin and learn Zero marketable skills in that time (totally not me dude…), and you miraculously beat that addiction all on your own without rehab. Now you have no proof of being an addict, which means you cannot reliably explain why you have no useable work history or skills of any kind. You also have no access to any programs that are in place specifically to help recovering addicts find a job, or get their life in order and on track.

Which means if you make the choice to beat addiction on your own, you'll also be on your own as far as putting your life back in order once you are clean. Which is BY FAR the more difficult part. Getting clean is easy. Becoming a functioning adult afterward is the nightmare.

    I'm terrified dude.
