  1. Αt this point it doesn't really matter, they suck for almost twenty years now, Napalm death have put bands like Slayer to shame for a long time now, they are the true legends

  2. Tom was always older by 4-5 years than everyone else and it was obvious he didn't have the energy Kerry still had in their last years. His voice wasn't as powerful as it was just 10 years before, Father Time hit Tom real hard during the World Painted Blood tour, which was one hell of an album and one of their most collaborative as a band in a long time, it would be ridiculous if Tom tried to scream like he did in 1998-2009 era Slayer, if he was allowed to sing like in the 83-94 era, maybe it could be doable, but then it would feel kind of dated, at least for Slayer, who like Metallica, had a first album that is very NWOBHM/speed metal that came out the same year but by 1984 Thrash was their lifeblood, so tuning down the aggressiveness to early 80's levels to accommodate Tom's voice, it would feel very weird.

  3. Tom Araya and KK didnt talk to each other since the final concert which tells you slayer is just a business. Kk said crap about Lombardo which tells how childish he is rather than just focusing on his solo project and not throwing up tantrums on others.

  4. Tom Araya sounds like he has deep resentment towards Slayer.
He probably didn't make the millions that he could've made, had slayer wrote at least a couple radio hits, but they didn't want to do that, so, no retirement money…. sadly

  5. Please don't reform and become a tribute band to yourself. We all know how much this band meant to music overall and changed people for the better. Try something different musically
and keep the future fresh. Nothing can harm what was built before.

  6. I'm 52 years old and been an extreme metal fan since jr high school…slayer being my favorite band for a period back then. Slayer is not slayer without jeff or dave. Jeff literally wrote all the music and lyrics for all slayers most iconic songs …and paul bostoph is nowhere close to having the finesse of dave lombardo. He should have stayed with forbidden and dave should have been paid properly. Kerry King ruined slayer by letting himself become influenced by pantera ….and from greed. Anyone who disagrees with this is an ignorant noob

  7. Slayer live is a beast of an event to watch!! Top notch musicianship! Tight and tweaked out the guitar solos that sounded like you know what song it was but jammed in random on the spot tweaks, you do not hear on the record. And it was amazing. Kerry especially live. is where he truly shines with his leads. Even Dimebag Darrell said that he doesn’t even know how to play his lead when he did the outro solo on goddamn electric on Pantera‘s last record specifically said I don’t even know how he does that shit to this day or something like that.

  8. I get that Tom wants to be with his family and he has stuff going on with his personal life but at the same time, it’s never the same to not be able to see slayer at the current moment. I’ve seen slayer a quite a few times when I was younger but I didn’t take it in enough to where I am today. I would seriously say the metal community went downhill after slayers “retirement”. I think a good solution would be for slayer to play festivals or some here and there shows. They don’t have to tour but I think they at least need to play some shows to keep their spirit alive

  9. I think eventually they'll be offered an amount to tour or do a few shows that they can't refuse. I don't see them making another album though. I really hope Tom decides to make new music at some point. I miss that guy.

  10. Tom is a very dedicated family man, he won't be back on tour and I think people just need to realise that and leave it be. Lets just be thankful for the memories we have.

  11. you also got to remember araya is also a grandfather as well, i don't blame him for not wanting to tour tbh. i would rather spend what ever time i have left my loved ones rather then be touring all over the place..

  12. I don’t want to see Slayer cheapen their legacy by coming back together for a quick cash grab. I saw them 4 times, I’m happy with what Slayer gave us, I won’t ask them for more. We’ll always have their catalog.

  13. I think if Kerry wants to play his solo stuff and pop in a few Slayer songs live I think the man has earned the right to do that. I think whoever is in his band will need to be capable of not just playing the notes and carrying the speed of the song but also convey the passion that Slayer songs typically display. I will laugh my ass all the way off if Bostaph is on drums and Holt is on guitars hahaha.

  14. Slayer probably were done with there contracts and probably were just done getting screwed because if dave is right about how much they were making as slayer? Like one step below mettalica brand name wise and recognition..i wouldnt renegotiate with whatever label there with
