50 thoughts on “I Broke The Coast-to-Coast Motorcycle Record

  1. Is that a record? Carl Reese broke a coast to coast record – 2,829-mile LA to NY in 38 hrs, 49 min on his BMW K 1600 GT. Regardless, pulling that off on a Harley no less is awesome!

  2. Yes, huge respect!!
And he described a fair amount of how-to, but not how you can race from coast to coast without getting a single speeding ticket. 😢

  3. I set out two weeks ago for a 1000 mile saddlesore ride (Stock R1250RS), failed miserably. It was my first attempt, but dang… The respect I have for these guys running cross country, insane. I don't think I have another shot till next summer. Videos like this keep the motivation flowing!

  4. If I did this I would have friends at gas station stops like on the highway or at red lights… You can definitely do flying refuels and get waters and stuff loaded while moving too so I bet you could cut a lot of time off.

  5. Congratulations on an awesome ride! Love your wife’s “show” of enthusiastic support.

Years back I met a guy at a yearly small bore (125 cc) bike meet called Smokey mountain crawl at deals gap. I started talking to him and he told me he had just arrived to the meet from San Francisco CA. That’s coast to nearly coast on a stock 125cc Honda Grom!

  6. You wouldn’t want to race a sport bike across country it’s to far not for the bike but for the human body. When I was young and bullet proof I rode 15 hours straight at 100+ and when I got to the hotel in Richmond Virginia I couldn’t even sign in at the hotel. 😂 I had to x it legit. 😂 I road 1400 miles straight only stopping for gas and food. I had to stop for gas every 150-200 miles I was on a 1996 ZX750RR.

  7. This may sound boring or stupid but we should make a hypermill cannon ball where you try to use the least amount of fuel coast to coast. See what crazy contraptions people put in there car

  8. ive got an idea to cannonball on christmas eve and christmas morning. it'll be a solo run, in some car that will sustain 180. remove everything thats not NEEDED for safe operation to lighten as much as possible. then add in as much fuel as possible. in the trunk, back and passenger seats. firgue your fuel mileage, have a buddy or 3 with a trailer full of fuel parked under some bridge that you're passsing. say to hell with the cops. the helicopters can only do about 160. and just go balls to the wall non-stop to set an unbeatable record of ~18hrs and some change. then accept the fact that you will be going to jail. i havnt found a way to fool-proof an escape yet.
