WOW!!!
@4:58 I havent seen that GOLDFINGER CD that's in the CD book since highskool!!!
My BFF at the time Jared has that CD abs when hed actually drive to skool n give me a lift home, he had that CD in his book!
What a lifetime ago!!!
It's been more years since then as my age at the time!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
Ashtrays. Also lava lamps & black light posters made a comeback .. with teens in the 90’s.
I was born in 1986. The 1990s was my 2nd decade ever. VHS player, CDs, entertainment centers, roller skating, the Internet, Chia Pets, Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, Books, toys, board games, jigsaw puzzles, I liked the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Game Boy (original), the Super Nintendo, Game Boy Pocket, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, and Sega Genesis, but I didn’t get them later in life until 2002 and 2003 respectively, during the early 2000's. I have a VHS/DVD player combo, my Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and I don't have my NES and Super Nintendo yet in my house, but soon.
I think the kitchen cabinets at 2:21 still look very nice. Computer desks are still around even though they don't look exactly the same. Laptops are convenient but if you work from home, having a dedicated desktop PC with peripherals is essential. Speakers are popular among audiophiles who still collect CDs or Vinyl. Many homes constructed in the 2000s still have columns or arched windows. I think landline phones are still around and are somewhat necessary given how cell phone coverage can still be unreliable. I had no idea floor lamps were a fad. My parents had them for decades.
It's more like many of those things you would expect to see in every 90s home still exist but serve a more narrow niche market.
Love these videos. They are not only informative but hilarious due to the deadpan delivery.
I have a picture of me that looks exactly like the thumbnail image. Freaky.
Cordless phones came out in the 80’s, but were very expensive. They finally got affordable in the 1990s. Thats why most people didnt have one until then. …. that applied to a lot of things, like CD’s. Came out in the 80’s, too expensive for normal people, then finally became cheap and ubiquitous in the 90s
OMG!!!!! The entertainment centers. I remember moving the same one like 2 or 3 times.
I hated those fake plants. They gathered so much dust. The 90s were kinda dusty for me. Considering I grew up in El Paso. Dust was always gathering on the window sills. Stoopid fake plants.
Going back to the 1980s computers,I had a TI 99 4A, 1983, set up to color tv, I learned BASIC programming, played educational games, and other games. Cool!
We had cathedral ceilings and hanging lamps in our A-Frame! Open design for kitchen and living room. A fabulous loft! Built in the 1960s
Roller skating in the 1970s, 1980s, traditional rollerkates.
I had an Emerson radio/cassette and record player, in one unit, big speakers!
I agree with the computer desks, too!
What about tv/VCR combos?
VCR! "Breakfast Nooks"
lol all we had was tv xD
If any young people out there need proof that the 90s was better and it's not just some nostalgic longing from old people, i can explain it this way…. in the 90's your computer never made you feel sad, angry, jealous or cause any other negative emotions or mental health issues…. unlike today. There you go, proof that YES the 90s really was better.
I don’t care what anyone says, those sponge painted walls slapped.
80's was fat better than the 90's. Loved the duck under your desk due to a possible nuclear attack. God how naive a kids mind can be.
I love your YouTube channel you know your stuff please keep posting ❤
Even now, cargo pants and shorts are still a thing.
We used those AOL discs as coasters.
I still have a huge collection of VHS tapes, about 550-600 of them.
I also still have lots of CD's and cassette tapes too.
My parents had a halogen torchiere, during the 90s for as far back as I could remember as an '89 baby, that was until one evening when me and my younger sister were doing our homework in the living room, when the bulb shattered and were it not for it being an early 40s duplex with tile flooring that was almost certainly asbestos containing, would have probably started a fire. I had changed the bulb a couple nights earlier, I was about 10 yrs old and didn't know that you had to use a cloth to keep your skin oils off the bulb, or clean it with rubbing alcohol if you do touch it. Indeed the brightness, soft indirect light, dimmer switch and very reasonable purchase price made them very popular until the early 2000s, and I'm glad we no longer see these in homes.
I would never borrow movies in the 90s. When I was 12 I would watch Aeon Flux and Erotic Confessions.
I didn't have internet until 2000 or 2001.
So this is why my mom had our walls textured.
It sure didn't feel good when you accidentally rubbed against them 😂😂
New house. 1970. Cordless. Wow. Answering machine. Atari. My first mobile phone. That nokia was it.
Earthlink was my first internet provider
Graduation.1980. Remember all of this. Some neighbors still do.
We had an 800" 200lbs CRT TV, or something like that anyway
I remember getting a "please rewind" fine every time i returned a movie. The blockbuster had a fleet of bright coloured classic car vhs rewinders that I don't remember when one was not running while being in the store lol. Feels so long ago but not at the same time….
1990s! Good Times!
phones still went missing in the 90s. poeple would put them down and forget where they were.
The last good decade.
Ruffeled country curtains usually beige in every livingroom. They were hell to wash and iron
Those old Nokia phones were hardy. I bought my first mobile phone when I moved away from my parents 1996. I didn't have a tool for nailing things on walls so I used my mobile for it 😀 I also used to party a lot back then and one time accidentally dropped my mobile in the toilet seat. It still worked years after.
Don’t forget the little mini water fountains everyone had on their mantle or shelf! But wow you really included a lot here.
Hey , love this, I hope you do more 90’s, lifestyles, vehicles, clothes, fads, etc…
You are so right , it such a shame they song make appliances to last these days like in the past, I cannot tell you how many TVs, stoves, fridges, and microwaves (😟) we’ve had to buy the last ten years alone. My parents used the same all of the above for 20 years. I’m so jealous..😕
Not much is more 90’s than Oak cabinets and furniture. And the same colored tile and hardwood floors. It was all so bright, airy and nice back then but seemed so bland in the 2000s…
Sh## I still have most of that stuff in my home
My wife actually liked the 2 chia pet's I got her as a gag at Xmas.Said they brighten up the kitchen
I remember the desk with the BIG computer monitor and the super heavy TV 📺!! 😂
