Read Time:40 Second

The 70s was a time when kids spent the majority of their time outside playing. They made friends with other neighborhood kids and they did all sorts of things together. This was a time when most kids didn’t have a video game system until the very end of the decade. Home computer systems for kids were almost unheard of. In this video we will discuss life in the 1970s for kids prior to those becoming much larger in the 1980s.

20 thoughts on “Life In The 1970s For Kids!

  1. I'd was raised in the 70's worry free, NO COMPUTERS, NO CELLPHONES, The only Computer was your Television Set, and also your parents calling for you down the street (Excelsior District Kid, of San Francisco- Cow Palace of Geneva ave & Mission street) Southern End of San Francisco County, great neighborhood, 2019 my father sold the house on the 600 block of London street, miss the house already

  2. Don’t forget the moon bottle rockets we use to shoot each other with! And Estes Rockets we use to shoot off? Cap guns? Other plastic guns? Smoke in the house all the time?

  3. in 1975 the "People of Walmart" were not fat or freaks!… mostly. (was Walmart around then?) Doesn't matter, it was much better times. @ 8:44 mark… the wall mounted Danish Modern storage unit (background) and sofa by Dux the kids are sitting on sells for 1000's of $$$. Built to last, not Ikea of 2020's. (Ikea of the 70's was actually decent though). We had a great life back then, now I have bought land in the Philippines and can't wait to retire there, away from all the people making demands on what pronouns or whatever the woke demands are now. Worked hard all my life, please just let it be.

  4. I remember my dad's floor model 26" Magnavox Color TV which was like watching a 70" flat screen back in the day. The entire family would come over on Saturdays and watch American Band Stand and Soul Train. It's funny to think back and realize 8 or 12 people crammed up in the living room to watch something on such a small screen lol

  5. I grew up in the late 80s and 90s and our childhood was pretty much the same. Only we had more technology, computers, cordless phones, vhs and tapes to dvds and cds. But we were outside all day getting into some kind of mischief or playing sports, games, riding bikes, going on mini adventures. We git hurt a lot and nobody cared. If you complained your parents threatened to give you something else to complain about. Seems like my generation was the last one with that old school upbringing.

  6. I tell my kids, I grew up with 2 smokers in a house with asbestos, I had metal fillings and lead paint on the walls and no air conditioning, stop complaining!!!!

  7. I remember one of those klacker balls coming loose and hitting this kid in school right in the back of his head . That poor bastard was never the same ! I put away the other ball to hide it and after that day klackers were not allowed in school . If I remember I was in 5 grade .

  8. It was just a much better time. We used our brains to create fun. We would build stuff. We go all over the place. And we talked to each other face to face. I miss it. We look forward to things we don't look forward to now. The Sunday night movie or the Saturday night movie. Neighborhood fun fairs. Stuff like that. It was a much better time
