4. Btw the youtuber is not innocent. He was swatted here, but he is as crypto coin scammer, misused youtube's copyright system to sabotage competition and silence critics. Also some of his pranks for his channel are borderline criminal and he harressed many women on his streams.

9. I think after 45 seconds they knew it was a prank, handcuffing someone and putting them in a police car in front of ypur neighbors can have very negative consequences, those cops need to be retrained. They simply wanted let in be known that they are in charge

15. Reasonably, the only real thing the police can do with "their job" in this case is do a thorough investigation so the innocent streamer can sue the one who called with malicious intent. Swatting a streamer isn't just a risk via elevated police response, but also that the caller has the streamer's personal information to use as they please. Who's to say that caller won't do more in the future.

17. I feel like the rationalization in this case – while arguably not a justification – is that the responding officers felt secure in the swatting nature of the call and exercised an overabundance of caution to protect against the possibility they were wrong.

27. I give the YouTuber an a+ on the fact that he is a teen to young adult (least under 24) and kept his cool, I’m 37 now and I act differently to law enforcement now than when I was his age. When I was around that 16-24ish range I would be one of those f people arguing and being a complete bell end, now im “yes sir, no sir” voice complaints in a calm manner at let the courts and lawyers figure it out, because trying to figure that out on the streets is a lose lose. Hats of to the kid for being calm and cool while being detained, I know my 17 yo self couldn’t.

29. Haven’t watched the video yet but I’d like to make it clear that this Streamer/YouTuber is constantly berating people and bothering them. He engages in extremely offensive and arguably malicious activity regularly. Any reasonable person who knows about him and has watched him to a moderate degree knows he is a human piece of garbage. He derives pleasure from upsetting people, regularly.

    I hope the arrest was lawful, but if it was not, I’m not much bothered, in this particular case.

33. Here’s an idea for streaming platforms to protect streamers that are being swatted. Give the trusted moderators a function to notify twitch to notify authorities that the streamer is being wrongly swatted twitch or any streaming platform can give the info of the streamer to authorities including address and hopefully call off the swatting. Something along these lines can possibly save someone how fast it would notify would probably be a problem but at least the word will be travel and from a trusted personnel.
