ILL STICK TO OLD CARS TILL THE DAY I RUST AWAY
What about GM’s super cruise subscription
Cheaper to take out that system and replace it with a new one that you can actually use
Older dodge Cummins have a weekly subscription of like $40 CAD for motor oil and a monthly subscription of $4000 CAD for automatic transmissions
i love how they didnt even make content out of the guy cleaning lol u can just see him groan
Its all evil my guys
My car, I'll rewire it
Should be an illegal practice
i will never fucking buy a car that requires me to pay monthly to use a feature thats already in the car fuck that shit
People will stop buying new cars. The few wealthy enough people that don't give a flying F about the extra money won't be enough for them to justify them keeping the subscription model.
The only things that make sense are Hotspot/WiFi, xm radio, Google services and OnStar which require entire departments to be set up to help run the service but heated seats/steering, full self driving, rear wheel steering, seed increase or remote start are dumb as those are already built into the car and don’t require a support service based elsewhere.
Isn't the same as Tesla with there auto pilot they don't charge u a monthly subscription but they do charge u $10,000 which over 10 years is $19 a month if u did have it for a subscription thought it was worth mentioning as it's already in the car u just pay to activate it so pathetic companies have to charge extras just make the perfect product gaming companies are the worse
You can buy a seat heater pad thing for like $20. You plug it into the cigarette lighter and they usually have a multi setting switch. A subscription is pathetic.
I like how they plugged their month subscription in a video about how bad monthly fees are hahah
When I first heard about this, I was a bit scandalized, but the more I thought about it the more sense it made. This allows those who don't want or need an option to not have to pay for it, while letting the manufacturer streamline the manufacture and make parts universal fit, making repair cheaper as well. So, I am not sure most people or even the people who thought this up think that way, but that's how I see it. They basically made options stock, then you can pay for them later, but you don't have to. Later on I see these being hackable so once you are off your warranty it'll be pretty cheap to unlock or free if you are a coding god.
Drive subscription is just a lease, right?
Imagine being in a car chase and paying 20 bucks for sport mode to gtfo
You are not perfect, but I love you EU. Glad I was born here.
Paying for extra hardware to be put in the car makes sense… but you're going to put it in anyway… and then charge me a subscription. That would be enough to put me off buying the car completely
Heated seats might not be comfortable to use in the summer. You don't need to pay for the summer months.
I'm just saying about Toyota… at least the key fob (remote start) is something you shouldn't use anyway due to security.
General Motors!! Pay attention to this. I have been a loyal buyer of GM products for 56 YEARS. I will never EVER buy ANY automobile with a monthly subscription fee. Goodbye.
I want to know what legal action companies can take if you bypass the software that locks the feature down
I didn’t even know this was fr I thought all the subscription memes about bmw was just memes
I'm 8 month late, but maybe you guys should do a follow-up and talk about motorbike airbags. You did a video on the Dainese offer, but many competitors require a subscription… For a safety device (which aren't cheap to begin with)…
I get the Tesla thing because it needs to be updated all the time and it needs to be connected to their servers to work
When in doubt, pinkies out
I can't express how much I love this new wave of subscription based car features. What it effectively means is that your car comes with the hardware that you might save up upfront cost on, and then just download a Crack or unlocker or something, and just unlock all features for free. Because everyone knows there will 100% be people hacking and unlocking cars.
GM thinks I'm willing to spend $135 a month on subscriptions if they're "compelling?" OK sure, I'll pay $135 a month if Mary Barra pops out of the glovebox to give me a blowy.
