0:05 Why it’s always important to read your owner’s manual on how to properly flat tow your vehicle. Seems like the customer thought the transfer case was neutral when it was actually in 4LO for the 2nd time (the shop showed him how to properly flat tow it after the first time).
0:22 The engine overheated as the serpentine belt broke off resulting in the water pump no longer rotating. The customer got the engine replaced with a used one.
0:34 The technician “fixed” it in the parking lot.
0:49 Seems like whoever welded the C Clamp on, was trying to weld the engine mount to the engine block to prevent the engine and transmission from swinging back and forth. That would be the cheapest fix however ideally it would need a new engine block as the threaded hole for the engine mount bolt is broken off on the block.
1:19 I think paying the parking ticket would have been cheaper…?
1:25 The Engine got replaced once again with the correct one. The technician thinks the engine was replaced with one out of a Durango (different oil pan size).
1:49 The windshield had no other damage prior to the customer damaging it from the looks of it.
1:59 No damage was done to the engine. The customer’s insurance company paid for the repairs.
2:08 The YAW sensor was replaced. “A Yaw Rate Sensor (or rotational speed sensor) measures a vehicle’s angular velocity about its vertical axis in degrees or radians per second in order to determine the orientation of the vehicle as it hard-corners or threatens to roll over.”
2:18 A very simple fix and found. The customer should have left the vehicle running if they wanted to cook a meal with their crock pot.
2:31 No extra info.
2:38 The customer declined the tire warranty (1st time) but after getting the tires replaced for the 2nd time in one day they decided to get it.
2:52 The customer did not mention if they got away with it or not. The door panel was replaced with a used one.
3:03 “1969 Ford 350 Fummins”.
3:14 Outro. Thanks for watching!

40 thoughts on “Customer States He Noticed Smoke Under His Car After Flat Towing

  1. So the brake shoe one is not negligence, I hope they found out the company name and got them to pay for it. The last vehicle was the best, cause it wasn't messed up, and had personality.

  2. This channel reinforces my personal philosophy to always buy new cars, maintain them meticulously, and drive them into the ground (I’m 40 and about half way through the second vehicle I’ve ever bought). I know most people aren’t like those on this channel and most people have decent luck with used cars, but honestly the vast majority of people are not nice to their vehicles.

  3. I dont buy it, smoking pot….doesnt get hot enough to lite a shag rug on fire (it will smolder in place though) yet he claims it melted plastic…..he your off a couple hundred degree's dude… lol crack pipe?

  4. That brake shoe reminded me of a incident on a state road in central Maryland. A guy I used to work with was driving behind a truck that had a load of used car parts, and dropped a brake shoe from his load. The brake shoe went thru my friend's windshield and hit his 3 year-old daughter who was sitting in her Child Seat in the second row. Didn't hear much more but did learn, SHE SURVIVED! 20 or so years later I'm showing a 20-something young lady a used car at I dealer I was working for. When she mentioned her name, that ordeal with the brake shoe came back to me. I noticed the slightest blemish on her forehead and nothing else. She confirmed she was the same girl and said that she had never had a problems, physical or otherwise. She'd grown to be a normal kid.

  5. I cannot imagine how unsatisfying it must be for moderately talented DIY kings to see their crappy Home Depot clamps welded to rusty-crusty safety relevant car areas fail in practical application

  6. Some of these just killed me… the hair clip on the steering wheel.. and "oh hey, I need a new rim and tire….never mind that boot.." Oh wait, these people drive on the same roads as we do!!…. scary
