30 thoughts on “Motley Crue GOES OFF on Fan Claiming They Use Backing Tracks: ‘CLOWN!’

  1. Depends on you mean by backing track are they referring to other instruments that were used during the recording of the song in a studio that arenโ€™t being played live on the tour. Are they referring to the song being played through the sound system and they just fake play along ? Maybe they have Vince lip-synch because heโ€™s terrible live. Iโ€™ve seen them three times now.

  2. Every body uses backing tracks now a days. Like another member said, some people are confusing lip syncing with back tracking. It's not, it is quite literally "back up" tracking.

  3. I think that backing tracks are ok when someone is performing. Like when the person(s) might be doing a dance routine. But Rock n roll bands should really be playing and singing everything at the prices they be charging for tickets. The cheapest seat I have seen recently was $98. Idk there is always the argument that you are paying to see these particular people, entertaining us with their music so be satisfied that you got what you paid for. I think do less dates so you can really play all the gigs. But honestly these men are pushing 60. What exactly do you want?

  4. The worse part of this is how they responded to their fans, name calling and stuff, instead they should have said, "yes we have occasionally play with backing tracks due to a clause in our contract, we intend to rectify this, thank you for your feedback, love Motley Crue " would have been so much more professional

  5. Never underestimate Motley Crue's ability to raise controversy to sellout shows either. It's something I don't hear brought up very much. The whole thing could be a publicity stunt to keep their names in the news and get the Crue faithful in the pews.

  6. If they are faking it, then scrue the crue. I know Tommy is a great drummer, I've heard him play. I KNOW Nikki is very creative, but I've also heard a lot of producers say he wasn't a very good bass player. It's hard to believe he could do it for a living for 40+ years and not learn something about the instrument. That said, Mick has more integrity IMO. He's never done anything but let his guitar do the talking. If he says there's bad tuna, than someone needs a bath.

  7. Any artist that charges their fans to see them perform should be open and honest about how much of the show is actually played live and how much is backing tracks. I have no problem with a level of 'enhancement', such as orchestration to fill out or beef up the sound. That's fine. How Vince Neil miraculously restored his vocals back to 80s quality, when he could barely get through a handful of songs just prior to Motley's 'Out of Retirement Tour'.

  8. I've been to 19 Crue shows over the years, and I think the "Final Tour" was the best performance of recent years. I made sure to get the Stadium Tour tickets as soon as they went on sale, and waited years for the show to finally happen. I was definitely disappointed in their performance in Pittsburgh. When they "performed" "The Dirt", it looked like they were just pantomiming to a track. I just stood there and was like, WTF?!?!? I really wish that I could have enjoyed their performance, now knowing that is most likely the last time I'll see Mick up there with them. As much as I enjoyed the Crue over the years, I had to stop following Nikki and Tommy on social media. Their out of touch opinions and he way they talk and insult their fans, just really turned me off on those guys. I kept following the Motley Crue account for updates, and I've followed John 5's account and became a fan back to when he joined Manson. As disappointed as I was with the last Crue tour, I figured I'd give them one more chance, just because of J5. He seems like a great guy, and really enjoys music and mastering the guitar. But seeing how Crue talks to their disappointed fans on social media? What the hell is going on?! I don't know if the account is run by an amateur, a wife or girlfriend of a band member, but it's very amateur and unprofessional. That account acts like a immature local band thats' not going anywhere and is pissed about it. You don't a headlining global touring band act like that. That's stuff we expect from bands that have hit the top and are on their way down. They need to put down the keyboard and mouse and work harder on writing some new tracks, so we can actually have some kickass Crue tunes and not another Greatest Hits.

  9. So sick of Sixx stirring the pot to gain any kind of press. I feel for Mick, I remember back in the day around Shout at the Devil when that douche was harping on Mick about his age, F Sixx, that dude is still a novice bass player, Mars is a killer guitar player, Sixx just looks the part, that's all he is nothing more. I hope the best for Mars, I hope he crushes the rest of those douche bags in court! Mars all day! And BTW Mars IS Motly Crue, F those other vertical turds! If you can't play it live, you shouldn't charge people to see you mime it.

  10. My opinion, backing tracks are Cool if you're the only one standing on stage, but if you have a full ass band then everyone needs to do their part. ๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽธ

  11. For GGG, the drum mix was completely different for the song and its blow-out end which the later was the only live-part. TBone hasn't hit like that since the 80's and honestly, he sounded like a trainwreck. I always loved his playing though he probably doesn't even practice any longer. Its just a regular uninspired day job to them and the ever-patient Mick being one to keep the peace, just dealt with it. These songs really aren't hard to play. Sorry guys. Always will remember those awesome years. No one ever came close.
