Look alive
Look alive
It’s never been
A better time to be mine
Take sides with the villains
Turn fake dials
Keep ‘em listening
Gotta die for the prize
When the kids start killing

Look alive
Look alive
It’s never been
A better time to fed up and fucked off
With it
When they tell you don’t try
Look alive
Look alive
When they show me dollar signs
Cut the lights
Kill ‘em

I fight better with the lights out
Don’t try
Cut your fucking eyes out

I fight better with the lights out
You can’t hide
Cut your fucking eyes out

You’re safe with me
I won’t run when the night gets bloody
Take a picture and say with me
Everybody just
Love me
Love me
It’s never better
Ah
We’re gonna live forever
I’m finding heaven right at my fucking fingertips
We’ve got the venom
Drink it before they fuck your head in
They’re only looking for the next best sedative

We found time to waste so don’t lose it
Swore not to break then I do it’s
All a part of the game
Just don’t hesitate
Come out with your pain looking pretty
For the better days

No time to change so keep losing
We’re all built to break you can’t choose its
All a part of the game
Just go medicate
Come out with you fists up
Looking for an enemy

I fight better with the lights out
Don’t try
Cut your fucking eyes out

I fight better with the lights out
You can’t hide
Cut your fucking eyes out

Calm down
It’s just a little wrist slit
Trust me baby you’d be crazy if you missed this
No pain no fame
It’s a safe space
And I’d hate for that pretty face go to waste
Tell me how you feel
Tell me what you want bitch
Surely you’ve got a problem that we could go fix
It gets tough at the bottom if you don’t undress
So put that knife to the test and tell ‘em that I’m next

Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Incite violence (shut the fuck up)
Shut The Fuck Up

We found time to waste so don’t lose it
Swore not to break then I do it’s
All a part of the game
Just don’t hesitate
Come out with your pain looking pretty
For the better days

No time to change so keep losing
We’re all built to break you can’t chose its
All a part of the game
Just go medicate
Come out with you fists up
Looking for an enemy

I fight better with the lights out
Don’t try
Cut your fucking eyes out

I fight better with the lights out
You can’t hide
Cut your fucking eyes out

The song "Worship The Internet" by Banks Arcade contains intense, thought-provoking, and somewhat mysterious lyrics. Its meaning can be interpreted in various ways and may not have a single, straightforward explanation. The song appears to explore themes related to modern society, technology, fame, and certain aspects of human behavior. Here's a breakdown of some potential interpretations of the lyrics:

Social Commentary: The song could be offering a satirical take on society's fixation with the internet and social media. It might be highlighting how individuals are willing to go to great lengths for attention and online recognition, often at any cost. Phrases like "Take sides with the villains" and "When they show me dollar signs, cut the lights, kill 'em" might be seen as a critical view of the pursuit of online fame.

Exploration of Celebrity Culture: "Worship The Internet" may be delving into the less favorable aspects of fame and celebrity culture. Lines such as "It gets tough at the bottom if you don’t undress" and "No pain no fame" might suggest that people are ready to endure hardships or engage in self-destructive behavior to achieve fame and wealth.

References to Aggression: The repeated refrain "I fight better with the lights out" and references to aggression and violence could be commentary on the confrontational and aggressive nature of online interactions, where individuals often resort to hostility and extreme behavior.

Desensitization: The lyrics may be addressing the desensitization of society to disturbing and violent content, as hinted by lines like "Calm down, it's just a little wrist slit." This might be a commentary on how some individuals exploit shock value for attention or manipulate emotions online.

Escapism: Lines such as "We’re gonna live forever" and "Finding heaven right at my fingertips" could suggest a desire for escapism from the challenges of real life, seeking solace and fulfillment in the digital world.

Resistance and Rebellion: The song might also be encouraging resistance against conformity and urging listeners to challenge societal norms. Phrases like "Come out with your fists up looking for an enemy" could be interpreted as a call to question the established order.

In summary, "Worship The Internet" seems to convey a sense of disillusionment, discontent, and cynicism about the present state of the digital era and the pursuit of recognition and success, although its meaning remains open to interpretation.
