Jason Newsted and his former bandmates in Metallica are clearly on great terms, with the legendary former Metallica bassist talking about the brilliance of Lars Ulrich in a recent interview.

  1. At the end of the day Lars's work speaks for itself and people wanna jump on the hate bandwagon when nobodys conscience is exemplary so people should just stop acting so hypocritical and keep quiet if they don't have anything but hate to preach about that helps nothing but help spread more negativity and hatred

  2. Another aspect of the whole Napster/Metallica fiasco was the fact that someone who worked at the studio the band was working from leaked a nearly complete " I disappear" track for Mission Impossible 2.

  3. Nope still not correct. That's why the industry changed to a subscription base. It's just an evolution and trying to stifle that just hurts the industry that could have been here sooner had they not fight it.

  4. I luv newted but i don't care what he says. Newsted is a nobody now without metallica. His solo project is horse shit. i still hate lars for his lame live performances like he does not care anymore in comparison of many of his age.

  5. I will say Lars was right about one thing, I am starting to see more people saying they liked Lulu (as in they liked it from the start). He may say some odd things sometimes, but he was on the money there.

  6. Jason is such a class act. And he is right. No Lars, no Metallica as we ever knew it to be. He had a lot of awareness in some critical areas at such a young age. Does he have faults, yes, but he’s only human. People need to stop dragging him for things that happened years ago, especially for things that Jason has forgiven him for.

  7. Jason never took a shitty outlook, but for a long time it was James fault overall, after St Anger they finally realized all Jason wanted was to get his music out to the World. James was able to do it his whole life, Lars too, but to a lesser degree. James did say that he understands Jason and all he wanted was to put music out to the world. James said to Jason, Metallica is the band, but James wasnt in Jason shoes and the fact that Jason was IN Metallica, but Metallica was James and not allowing Jason to use his material in Metallica songs, he had to get it out somehow and at that time Metallica wasnt the place. Jason wanted what James had and it took too long for James to see it. Hey I dont know what I dont know until I know it. Jason only has 2 or 3 full writing credits, Blackend is one, My Friend of Misery is another, but James took his bass part and chopped part of it out and had to play it the way James wanted. I would have Loved to hear King of the Underdogs done as a Metallica song, ugh. Anywho, Ive seen Metallica from Justice to Hardwired, except Death Magnetic, I even had, still have un ripped, a ticket to Monsters of Rock Van Halen, 1987 (?88?) the ticket cost me $66 bucks and at 13 my mother didnt let me go. Foxboro Mass. Van Halen Headliner, Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica and Kingdon Come, lol Kingdom Come had a single Get it On, sounded like Led Zeppelin, wish I saw that show. Go see Metallica if you have not yet, I saw them last year at Boston Calling, first Metallica show w/ my 17 and 19 yo sons, they were incredible. Tight and cleanest ever, wasnt as fast as Justice, but overall much better. They wont be around for ever. I didnt care for the Greatful Dead , but did see them in 93 in Meadowlands in NJ, Jerry died the next year, but the show was incredible, dont miss your chance!
