  1. The cops use to come to these places. Until they realized its futile because nobody will talk to you so the cops decided to spend their time and resources with ppl who actually want help

  2. Tiny detail: at 3:09:27 that tweet from Von saying "I'm selfish… I want u all 2 Myself I Swear. U don't need nobody else I swear." is referring to the PNB Track "Sefish" one of his biggest hits. Another artist killed too young trying to make it on his own after separating from the label. Von was a serial killer and I never liked his music but it's undeniable how disgusting and yet entertaining his story is. Crazy story is that he made it so far with out getting taken down. Gets me thinking about how some of these artists say they have connections with masons or ARE masons (like Thugger claims) and somehow get out of jail easy. Almost seems like they are staging some of these charges just because it's the best promotion an artist can get aside from doing jail time. I'd like to know who the prosecutors were in all these cases and their connections and stories.

  3. This is a singular story of someone in the hood; an extreme one but I don't think it's as uncommon as it may seem. Imagine for every gangster that makes it as a mainstream rapper and kills so many people all the gangsters that are just out in the streets killing and never put it to wax. Way more deaths happening that are never remembered through music. On one hand the memorial of the opps or a dead friend on a record is disturbing but there is also something about it that is oddly beautiful. It's like these hoods are echo chambers and sets within the neighborhood within the city that almost seems like it's cut off from the world around it. The culture is very different in a hood than a few blocks away. Generations of people living knowing they likely will be killed or locked up but somehow enjoying their lives either ignorant to their own demise or living in spite of it. I can't say what I would do because that's not at all my experience but I imagine being born into it and raised in it that was something rewarded by your family, friends, and neighbors, that the outside world seems like a twisted place where justice is rarely served. You look at the death of one person and it can be traced for generations of revenge and those generations cost more and more lives and the cycle continues. The question that always leaves me wondering is if someone raised in the hood could move to another city by any means necessary if they do not want to live that life. The problem is the kids starting so young being exploited by the older members. Kids are used as weapons and they are rewarded for hitting licks and messing with guns; people act like it's a joke when a baby or a toddler has a gun. There is something archaic about the gang life that connects with humanity on a deeper level. Something that has been lost in modern times do to industrialization and so many other factors. It's easy to look at the crime and say it's wrong and I believe it is but when you have the context for a fraction of the puzzle it starts to make a lot more sense. That doesn't mean when it makes sense that it's right but that you can begin to understand a little bit about how things go to be the way they are and the way they have been and why they likely won't change. I just wish we had some of these gang founders around today to speak about why they started the gangs. It's one thing to hear it from a historian or an old head but to hear it from the horses mouth might put some perspective to it. I think these gangs have lost the plot at some point it just became blood sport for some twisted clout but I think a lot of gangs started out wanting real change working on the fringes and just beyond law to try to take care of themselves and their neighborhoods. Maybe gang members don't think about it so much; it's just the way some people are raised. I do think there are many who could get out but have too much ego involved to ever get out or feel they would be killed if they left. It just seems like so many murderers take pride in the fact they killed someone or somebodies. Even murder allegations people wear like a badge of honor in many cases. Going to jail and getting shot is part of the cliche rapper story and it makes me wonder which came first. The rappers or the cell? I think it was the cell. We need to go back to a time when artists could keep it real and speak artistically without having their hands in it. We have lost dozens and dozens of talented artists to violence not to mention drug overdoses. Imagine all the music and art these lost souls could have made if their life took a different path and went right rather than left. All the heroes of each generation seem to die younger and younger from the days of John Lennon to XXX to Juice, Von, Peep, Nipsey, Yams, Fredo, and so many more I can't even list them all here. What a cruel tortured life it seems so many live just trying to break free.

  4. I know we are not glorifying this. Imagine a life that you can't even walk outside without worrying or looking over your shoulder…CONSTANTLY. Lore explained it best in the first 10 minutes…the government has systematically FAILED these communities. So sad.

  5. You really look at King Von like a science experiment. I notice you're trying to paint a narrative with all your speculations that will eventually be pushed as facts to those not in the know. Some of the tweets he posted during his time as a rapper were simply just lyrics — some may have alluded to actual street things, but a lot of them were JUST lyrics. Holy shit you tweakin lmao

  6. Another thing, Ross — I don't know if it's the language barrier or what — but you messed up quite a bit with those captions on what he said, lowkey completely changing the meaning. You did it numerous times.

  7. Jus watched the whole documentary and you hit it right on the nail 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽if anybody was gone do it it had to be you. The right way 💯
