42 thoughts on “I bought a MISDIAGNOSED AMG for 85% OFF!

  1. Just earlier today while driving home I was thinking; before you're allowed to buy sports cars or anything that might even be thought of as a sports inspired car you should have to pass an IQ test and a high stress, high performance driving test.

  2. I once bought a mk3 supra that had suspected bottom end failure, took the belt for the ac off and the bearing for the tensioner pulley was fallen to bits ruined, rest of that 7mgte was flatout perfect lol

  3. I bought a 05 taco due to the same thing. I bought it for 300 because he swore it needed chains, and it needed an altanator. It had higher mileage, so he was kinda over it anyway, but best buy I've made so far

  4. Misdiagnosis is a beautiful thing to a knowledgeable buyer. I've bought two cars super-cheap because the sellers said they needed new transmissions.

One was right, but he'd been unable to find one because he was looking for the wrong part. Only the turbo model came with that trans, and he had an NA. $100 and an hour of work later, had a car that drove great.

The other one just needed a sensor. Easy-peasy, right on top of the transaxle. Someone had previously replaced it and that didn't fix the problem, so he thought the whole unit was bad. I pull it out and the sensor was actually broken by the poor installation. Tossed in the new $30 part: no more issues.
