39 thoughts on “Cop Gets Investigated After Viral Encounter

  1. I've seen several videos of officers ordering drivers out of their car for "officer safety." I've also seen several videos where the driver attempted to get out of their car and the officer ordered them to remain or get back in their car for "officer safety." It's just a bunch of horse shit.

  2. This story is blocked by YouTube, but I found it on the same ? California was found to have 47 Mentally Ill Sheriffs working < We had to look, and they seam to have found the Nut Hut in diversity hires/ so trying to be diversity they hired the Mentally Ill / All 47 failed their Mental Health Test < The one that looks for CRAZY / 47 CRAZY Sheriffs were all given Guns and let loose on the public / What i just saw was CRAZY and Because I said so is not a Law yet 🤷‍♂🤔 This can happen all the time /California just got caught

  3. Can we please start charging officers with obstruction of justice and assault when they create physical altercations in the name of "officer safety" when there is clearly no threat and they are clearly not threatened in any way… If you are so scared of a regular interaction with another human being then you need a shrink and you definitely don't have the capacity for being in law enforcement.

  4. Personally, I would not be so judgmental on the police officer. Most people do not understand what it is like to be in that role as a law enforcement officer. So many times officers run into people who blame them for being racist or refuse orders because they believe they know the law and are usually wrong. They have to deal with idiots who argue the fact that they are not driving the car. They are traveling which does not require a driver's license. They have to deal with the same morons who they keep pulling over but never seem to get the idea that you are not supposed to break the law.

So when an officer runs into a guy who simply refuses to step out of the vehicle that gets very frustrating when dealing with someone's bad attitude. In this particular situation, always see is the video from when the guy started recording. We did not see any interaction before that. Nobody knows if the officer wanted to get him out so he can take it closer. Look at the driver's eyes and body movements to see if he noticed any signs of drug or alcohol use. We do not know if the officer had any kind of suspicion that the driver might be armed and he simply wanted to check before writing up the citation. There is no loss of rights by being asked to step out of your vehicle. That is something I've had to do which I thought was completely unnecessary but I was only outside for a few minutes before I was released and allowed to go on my way.

It is lawful for an officer to ask you to step out of your vehicle, but this video never explained what other avenue the officer could have taken to achieve the same goal of getting him out. Put the officer have been nicer? Probably. With the nicer attitude have suddenly got the guy to comply? Experience points to probably not. And again, we do not see the beginning of the interaction. The officer could have been extremely nice and the guy could have just simply refused to step out, causing the officer to get frustrated and to be suspicious. Why the guy does not want to get out of the vehicle?.

I think we would have way better police interactions when society has a whole puts more expectations on our citizens to behave properly and respectfully when dealing with law enforcement. Even when people know they were actually speeding they get mad when the cop pulls them over. There's plenty of videos of people getting upset and yelling at the police officer stating that being pulled over for a broken headlight or busted tail light is illegal and that the cop was only doing it to harass them. Pulling people over for all those reasons is part of their job. What other profession has people hating on them for doing what their job tells them to do? If I had to guess I would say more than half of the people out there hate cops just for being cops. We all know somebody if not ourselves that talks bad about the police officer that stopped them for driving past the speed limit rather than getting upset at themselves for not obeying the traffic laws.

I would give the officer a, b minus and the driver of the vehicle an f for simply refusing to comply with the simple order of stepping out of the vehicle.

  5. How does a C assignment to this interaction find this rating because they were both crazed. The officer was totally out of control even though calm in demeanor. The driver was wanting to be disrespectful in the face of an out of control policeman who was ready to pepper spray him or taser him for noncompliance. Too ridiculous for a speeding ticket.

  6. The problem is that officers can act totally unstable and put people in fear for their life just to get people to resist and give them room to escalate to get more charges added on or even an excuse to beat or kill. Because we all know there are a lot of sadistic and homocidal cops

  7. The trouble with this video – and it is a huge factor – is that the narrative begins after the driver has been arguing with the officer for, quite apparently, some time. The officer didn't walk up to this fellow pepper spray in hand. The driver seems to have been gainsaying every request/order from the officer; certainly, that is the pattern during the video that is offered. It is also apparent that the officer is struggling to remain calm in spite of this behaviour. The absence of any inclination to accept personal accountability on the part of the driver is clearly the driving factor in the escalation to use of force in this situation.

Be polite, comply with the officer's lawful commands, sign the ticket – and either take your lumps (own your actions – i.e. speeding) or contest the ticket in court. This driver's whining entitlement tied down law enforcement personnel whose time could have been better spent elsewhere.

  8. The officer is correct. He can order a passeger out of the vehicle on a valid traffic stop. The interaction is stupid and odd. I have no training but i would just openly call a supervisor and tell the man to keep his hanfs on the wheel. There is no need for options or threats.just writting a dqmn tickwt is always an option.

Police have this weird understanding that they think they need to creapy like know everyones business and tell them how to conduct it.

  9. On the other hand this "Sude" guy does seem like an entitled dipshit, and was probably being an asshole before he started filming

  10. The only reason why he wants him out of the car is simple because he can. I wonder why he has no more pepper spray

  11. so wondering if thats how its going to go for everyone now get any kind of moving violation and you have to get out of your car and get your rights violated i thought you didnt have to get out of your car for a ticket moving violation other then reckless driving this is getting pretty bad im guessing more cops and people will get shot or hurt for asking people to get out of the car for no victims or crime

  12. So he finally got out of the car and they put him in the back of the squad car. Where did they get the authority to ignore the 4th Amendment and search his car?

  13. Pepper spray is and has always been a method used for punishing the innocent for being found in contempt of cop. If they're actually in danger they'll just straight up kill you with their gun. Tasers and pepper spray are almost exclusively used to punish people who gave the nerve to exercise their rights or argue with the police.
