   I also had no idea City of Evil was bombing initially. That's one of my favorite albums of all time, period. It's a masterpiece.

39. I remember when i first heard sounding the seventh trumpet as a 6th grader, to see the band grow and preserve through all the things they have gone through is amazing. They make music they are passionate about and it shows in every album. Definitely one if the best of there generation 🤘💯👑

40. My parents bought me a used Madden 06’ back in 2008 for PS2, which was my first sports game. Bat Country was THE FIRST rock song I searched for because I actually enjoyed it, even when I had already been watching wrestling with the rock songs from back in the day. I love this band so much and appreciate them pushing the boundaries to the music they want to create. What a great interview.

42. I must say, M. Shadows is a cool character, with a badass vibe and all that kind of stuff… but Matthew Sanders, this man is a wonderful person, charismatic, eloquent, and humble! Life is but a Dream, in a good way, is a Matt Album, not M. Shadows traditional one.

44. I have video games to thank for discovering Avenged. I played SSX world tour on the PS2 and bat country was on the soundtrack. I remember literally being 5 and thinking I had never heard anything like that before. Then later on in my high school years I rediscovered it and dove back into their discography and that’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made😂

    M. Shadows clearly went through a bit of an intellectual arc over the last few years. I know he’s heavily influenced by Sam Harris and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

    In his interview with Altpress, I think he made it clear that he’s very aware of determinism. For those of you not familiar with the belief, it’s the belief that free will is an illusion and all actions can only play out one way and as they already have.

    As an atheist and determinist, I heavily agree with some of his takes here. I’m also still intrigued by the AI discussion.
