The plants do need a sleep period, when I do auto runs I'll notice the leaves will droop around the 16 hours mark, they wanna sleep
Just because lights are on, doesnt mean the plants are awake.
I fall asleep with lights on all the time.
18/6 for the win
16/8
Hell ya, tell them. Save that Money! 🤑 💵
A 24 hr is just easier because I don't have to worry about light leaks at 'night'. But yes you're right.
Im experimenting with 6/6/6/6 vegg to save electric…no real info on it online, normally I do 16/8 for the same electric saving reason
Just say’en, I love ya all on the stash pod. It’s also cool to hear a YouTuber talking about something like running a 24/7 light schedule. So unnecessary, but there’s a lot of bad info out there! Keep spreading it growmie!
I don't believe so because over the course of the week you're getting. 42 extra hours of light.
if u run 24/7 plants loose orientation, i was on 23/1 …i'm not shure maybe difference is better looking healtier plants when they have a good sleep …and i heard plants loose acumulated energy in leafs over night, and if not doing that they can …like …burn out
if you want to get ahead you have to put in twice the work like moving 2 rooms every 12 hours to pull double off 1 rooms 247 light schedule
I've heard through the grape vine that they do still need a "resting/sleep" period. So the 18/6 seems perfect.
Three months of 18/6 vs 24 in veg in my room will have a difference. It's situational. I run low watts in veg so I make up for it with 24. If you run 24 with high wattage lights you would need to give higher inputs in other areas.
I wonder if you have solar would it matter I know it wouldn't matter as far as growth and shit like that but as far as in your pocketbook. Food for thought
What are your thoughts on Gas Lantern Routine
“The gas lantern routine is an alternative light cycle technique that reduces energy consumption but allows the plants to continue to grow in a vegetative stage. The gas lantern routine follows a 24-hour clock in the following way: 12 hours lights on, followed by 5.5 hours of lights off, one hour of lights on, and then 5.5 hours of lights off.”
They'll actually grow the same on 16/8
16.25/7.75 veg 11.25/12.75 flower, last week or two down to 10/14 works in a ruff economy!
