  1. Parasites are the worst… They don't kill you gradually but live off of the fear of ruining you.. and to be honest they will go to any lengths to make it happen…. And once your money is done they will move on to another host

  2. Typical NYC crap. It's no wonder there's so many empty warehouses all over. Between the corruption of City Hall and the "Protection" rackets it's a wonder any business stays in business.

  3. Doing a little kickback her a favor for somebody in the world of crime can have its benefits at times

For instance, let’s see your own or run a restaurant and there’s people out front to keep on hassling your customers that won’t leave them alone because they want to bomb from them they wanna rob them they want to do everything, but what they should be doing
    How your customers feel afraid

But every time you call the police, they run away before the cops get there
Well, that’s when you pick the phone up and you call in a favor from that certain individual that you did a favor for the urge you something that has no problem taking care of these kinds of problems

Next thing you know those bombs and drug addicts won’t leave your customers alone for whatever reason they stop coming around. You don’t ask any questions you just know the problem is fixed that’s all you worry about.

  4. I’m not entirely convinced this wasn’t a case of John simply misinterpreting these guys. With John himself explicitly pointing out the fact that what he had just read in that Brooklyn Brewery book directly influenced his reasoning, I’m a bit skeptical to be honest.

But hey, nonetheless it’s a good story for sure. 🙏👍✌️🖖

  5. those people magically go away when you stand up against them. they don't want the light on them and when You turn on the spotlight and let others know they can be challenged they lose their power

  6. At least they come to your door for a discussion. All in all it’s far more civilized than being crippled by bureaucracy. Did the district rep ever show up to discuss anything?

  7. Great story that reminded me when I worked at a large Grocery chain in a small town Alberta Canada. A notorious MC club that is still around these days just opened up a Chapter in the same town and well the new MC club members would come shopping once a week. I treated them with respect and they treated me just like a normal person, long story short one day i was chatting with the MC guys and they Manager of the store was looking for me and well once he saw who i was taking too his demeanor changed from that day on…

  8. the Italian mafia had largely been brought into US politics by the 90s, whatever remnants of that crime organization are still around are nothing like what it used to be.

as I understand it a lot of what gets pinned on "the mob" across the US is actually activity of Mexican/South American cartel's the same parts of crime that US street gangs and crime families used to control are now being run by Cartel's, makes you wonder if dismantling crime families was as good for society as it was made out to be at the time.
