31 thoughts on “Metallica’s Lars Ulrich Goes Off On ‘Ignorance’ From Fans Who Hate This Album

  1. lars is right, sorry to say. it sailed over people's heads. it was fine art and all of you turds expected something else. it's different, but like always, if there's a reason to hate Metallica, people will.

  2. As a fan of Lou and Metallica alike, I don't understand how the loving members, and even Cliff for that matter, don't feel tremendous shame that the last work Lou Reed put his name on was this album.

  3. Maybe because, as a band, Metallica have pboned it in since 1987. A musician that plays on a record calling those of us on the outside ignorant is pretentious at best. The Metallica echo chamber must be just Lars.

  4. Although, a lot of peeps Hated St. Anger, I enjoyed it!!!! All riff and no solos!!!! The thing I felt that was Appauling for that album was the quality of the recording was sh*t!!!!!
Load and Reload for me however was Garbage!!!!!!:/:/
    Still Love Metallica though!!!!!!M/

  5. Lars and Kirk are absolultey right. I just don't understand how Lars was surprised with the reaction, after the Load era hate. Overall, I enjoy Lulu. The first track is boring, but the rest is pretty good. Some tracks like "Mistress Dread" are really cold, creepy, dark and eerie. Specially if you listen to that album in a darkened room, it's an interesting haunting experience. That being said, obviously, it's not for most Metallica fans. So, yes, the "WTF" response was to be expected. Which only makes the album even more special. BUT OF COURSE IT'S A LOT BETTER LISTENING TO "MASTER OF PUPPETS" FOR THE 2994480004844th TIME INSTEAD! THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN!

  6. Well lot of us were done with Metallica when they started messing around with Lady Gaga no offense. He's very talented and can sing Metallica supposed to be metal and rock. Pop not Pop. That's just the way it is and she's talented she can sing no doubt but. Doesn't really matter they have made their money.

  7. Metallica gave up METAL, and started chasing Grammys and money decades ago. Fine for them, but f*ck 'em. Their original METAL fans hate them, and their mainstream Pop fans are extremely fickle, and will sh*t on anything that doesn't sound like everything else. Metallica chose the path of celebrity, so they must walk it. Ain't no goin' back, Lars, might as well start doing InSync covers, you cheesy Pop Star you.

  8. It's like they've been piling more and more shit next to Load and Reload in an effort to make those albums better, in a relative sense. But that's not how that works. Because they still get measured next to the first five albums.

  9. Imo they sucked from load/reload up to death magnetic when they finally got Rick Rubin and went back to their old style. Garage Inc was ok. St. Anger had 3-4 decent songs on it. I actually like load and reload now that I'm older and can appreciate them wanting to change styles if THEY wanted to, not cause some record label execs talked them into it or anything like that. It's like for a minute they wanted to never go back to the "metal" style they had in the beginning. From 96-08 thru didn't put out anything good. Then death magnetic came out and everyone liked it but the sound on the disc was super loud when they mastered it and everyone got the guitar hero version cause it sounded a lot better and didn't have the mastering it originally had.

  10. "Ignorance", not really. Bad is bad and Lulu was really bad, but why stop there Lars? It's easy to say everything after the black album is garbage and in my own personal music world Metallica ended at the black album. Sorry, but I'm one of the OG fans from day one and that band turn killed what Metallica stood for.

  11. "Ignorance", not really. Bad is bad and Lulu was rwally bad, but why stop there Lars? It's easy to say everything after the black album is garbage and in my own personal music world Metallica ended at the black album. 12. Lars Ulrich is a douche, he and the producer did me a favor though they shoved there music right off my stereo! Good for new listeners though, I get it!
