  1. No joke, I can still remember exactly the moment when this incomparable sound thunderstorm turned my synapses for the first time, out of sheer enthusiasm. It was summer '99 and my buddy and I were cruising around in his VW Polo junk box. Suddenly he reaches into the glove compartment, pulls out a piece of tape, holds it in front of my nose and asks me if I already know them, they're called Slipknot.. ??!!
    I say um nop!!!
Er so, better buckle up now…
I mean, it was a crappy tape deck and just about the worst cabinets imaginable, but when ''EYELESS" galloped through the speakers I was overwhelmed. Then, to top it all off, "Wait and bleed " came afterwards, it was clear which demo tape we will inhale continuously up and down until more of it is at the start.. ! (so a complete album or something)
And I'll just say that we weren't the only ones who, when they first saw Corey with his mask, the very first thought was:
😯 "Damn, is that "JONATHAN DAVIS"??😆😆

Anyway, Corey has been a real inspiration to me after hearing his unbeatable acoustic side…
damn me, but you just can't deny that,…
LAYNE STALEY (R.I.P.) was truly incomparable and a unique balm for the soul,
but Corey's "Down in a Hole" cover
from some live performance, blew me away completely. Sorry, but actually even better than the original in this case…

  2. just worked for slipknot at knotfest in Sydney yesterday… never described heavy metal as a genre I like that much but knew who they were/the style, but after seeing them perform, even after 20 years of the band.. I am a full blown fan. What amazing music and energy, especially the lyrics. Seeing duality live is something I never knew I needed to see but I am so grateful I have. Now seeing these interviews, what an incredible group of people.

  3. I drive by the cemetery Joey is buried in every day on my way to work. I’m always too scared to pull in and tell him how much his music has meant to me and helped me through the hardest times of my life because I think it’d be weird if I cried for someone I’ve never met.

  4. corey taylor sounds like he doesnt know what hes talking about you can cover up and mask how shitty you are on a tape too plenty of bands have done it
biased ass old man that doesnt know what a computer is says everyone can sound good thats not how modern production works but okay than he insults the audience assuming what theyre knowledge on music production is

  5. F*** off with that old school b*******. It's cool to see dudes from the past talk to each other and you new school guys need to quit hating on that. Use the internet for the right reasons not just to promote hate

  6. i'm not sure who is a bigger Corey Taylor fan, me or my boyfriend, he knows a lot more about corey, but i know quite a bit too, i just don't have that kind of dedication to anything lol. My boyfriend was supposed to see him a few years back when we first started working together but there was a hurricane or shit weather, something and he is literally still bummed about it to this day. I just checked corey's website for tour dates and there's nothing. I'm about to give birth in a month to our second child and was wanting to take him to a show after i get back to work. loved the podcast even though it was a year ago, PLEASE start touring again soon Corey. It would make my boyfriends whole entire year to get to see you live. By the way, Corey is a bright light on his own without slipknot, i don't think he's in their shadow in the least bit.

  7. Wow! I saw Slipknott in Portland, Oregon in 2001 when it was still the Rose Garden. MudVayne and System of a Down played. It was a bummer just because I hurt my leg really bad like the night before and could barely walk. Honestly I never listened to any of them before that night and have been a fan ever since. Take care dudes!

  8. Hell yeah I remember in2000 me and my friend would search for pics of them without masks and it was hard to find but was fun as fuck I’m so glad I was a teenager back then

  9. Man I was a HUGE HUGE HUGE Slipknot fan from the day they came out! Still am! I love Stone Sour! The first time I heard Bother on the radio I was like HOLD ON is that Corey from Slipknot? No way! Next day I bought their album and huge fan since.

  10. I remember the year no one knew who they where and they played at oz fast I feel like it was 1998ish. I didn’t get to go but my cousin brought back the demo tape with a couple songs on it. And told me slipknot was the craziest and most memorable experience. I was hooked. I went to every concert they had after that in Sacramento. I made my own leather mask walked around wearing it behind memorial auditorium. Chris walked up to me and started asking about my mask and then said hey Cory come check this out. If I remember right Cory had a black Spider-Man/venom shirt with the white spider and a similar hat to what he wore on this interview. I later that day got a picture with Joey when he had his red streaks. after the show alot of them where just hanging out on the streets taking to there fans this was still there first album. I got to talk to Paul and Jim for a while.. I was only 16 at the time and am now 39. Every time I seen them at memorial auditorium I got to talk to a couple of them because they where good to there fans I have so many good memories and there a big part of what drove my need to go to every rock concert I could.

  11. Im 49 now, same age as most of the band. I wouldn’t have made it past 29 had it not been for Corey assuring me that I wasn’t the only one that was feeling some really hurtful shit. The music of the Knot gave me the barf bag that I needed to spew every fkng ounce of hurt, anger, pain, and sadness that I had stored in my fucked up brain at the time. Now, I’m still a Maggot. I have read all Corey’s books, listen to every side project of every member. Im a fan. More than that. I owe Corey #8….owe him fkn big. My five year old daughter is already liking them. I hope this band never stops, just recruits replacements as the bones wear down. And Steve-O, that’s a whole other story! Crazy mfs I love these sumbitches!!

  12. Steve, I love you dude but man you just constantly interrupted Corey, and it was hard to watch. You can't have someone like Corey on your podcast and keep cutting in like you're the bigger 🌟
