1. I enjoy seeing how items introduced in every year of the 1960s that have gone obsolete. I still remember Mr. Rogers on PBS Kids.

2. I was born in 1960. But I do remember my Mom. Would have me and my 6 siblings watching Mr. Rogers. He always seemed like such a pleasant fellow. I also remember the Pez dispensers. I always tried collecting as many as I can. I even have the KISS set of dispensers in a metal case. Somewhere packed in a box in my apartment. 🤣

3. Fizzies was the greatest insta drink of all time. It left kool-aid and tang n the dust. Cyclamate was the greatest artificial sweetener of all-time. NutraSweet was no comparison to Cyclamate. Scientists later admitted they could find no proof that it could be harmful to humans but the government refused to remove the ban.

5. I had a “Flatsy” doll when I was about 7; loved her. They were all the rage that year and I remember them being advertised on tv and even the jingle. I think my older sister gave it to me for my birthday. Haven’t thought of poor Flatsy for over 50 years!

8. The floppy disk gets me nostalgic. I remember my uncle showing me what they were. Mr Rogers was truly a good person, I watched his show as a kid. He will be remembered. 60’s cars are beautiful ❤

13. My twin brother was the first person involved in an accident with the Ford Mustang. A young guy bought a 1964 1/2 Mustang from the Detroit Line and face-planted my brother in rural Indiana.

14. You mentioned Ralph Nader! I was gonna say, "Corvair: Unsafe At Any Speed." I met Ralph Nader and he signed my book.

16. I recall my sister got a doll-sized front loading washer in which to wash doll clothes. It really worked — it really did wash clothes. It was pinkish and white. She had two different Tiny Tears dolls, and a Shirley Temple doll.

17. Anyone remember the fat, round Kool-Aid pitcher with the face on it? That pitcher showed up frequently in Kool-Aid commercials, and you could get one to use at home. My favorite Kool-Aid flavors were grape and cherry.

19. I remember Fizzies. We had those in our family, and they were real competition for Kool-Aid. I liked the grape flavor best, with cherry being a close second. Nobody at that time knew about the health problems the ingredients could cause, and I think, as young as we were, our bodies were able to handle that stuff better back then. We took it in, we eliminated it, and that was that. I don't think I or my siblings were hurt in the least by consuming Fizzies in water. Some of that stuff seems overblown to me, anyway.

    I remember the Chatty Cathy dolls, though I never had one. My sister had a Shirley Temple doll, and I think Barbie came out in the 60s. Later, the first Ken dolls. They didn't have moveable joints like the later ones, and I still recall the zebra print full piece bathing suit that Barbie came in. Mine was brunette with the ponytail. Later, Midge came out.

    Who remembers the "Gonk"? it was a funny looking, cartoonish face that appeared on smock-like dresses.

    Corvairs were dangerous cars. They would spin out suddenly and go out of control. Lots of accidents in them.

    I was ten years old in 1960. I recall boarding my first airplane in 1962, when I was 12. We were all going to fly into Yellowstone Park for a vacation. I was apprehensive, not so much by flying, but by the fear our luggage would be lost. I had heard horror stories about that. It all came through just fine. What's amazing, now, is that back then, we could walk right out onto the tarmac and into the plane, no going through security, no searching luggage, few restrictions on what could be taken aboard — it was a more innocent time. I truly miss it!

22. In my opinion Fizzies tasted like fruit flavored Alka-Seltzer. What a horrible taste that stuff had.

23. I vaguely remember the 'Fizzies' drink tabs, more so the display for them in grocery stores. Fun-fact, it was Ernie Coombs (Canada's legendary Mr. Dress-up) whom referred Mr. Rogers for this 'new' kids show which didn't last long on the socialist tax-paid CBC network. To be honest the actual 'candy cubes' from Pez had a 'blah' taste, not something to endear a late 60s small child to the brand. Nobody knew at the time the actual plastic dispensers could someday pay down your mortgage.

24. Incorrect about the floppy disks, they are still produced and used at all the minutemen missile silos.

26. We moved into an old 1800's house, & kept hearing something in the attic. Even though it had been patched over. It was a chatty Cathy, & mice were apparently setting it off. A neighbor remembered playing with the little girl years before, & took it.

32. I remember the 5.25 inch floppies in 1993, at school I would use the 3.5 inch disk, but the 8 inch not so much. Remember in 2004 when megabytes used to be a lot of information? Now it’s gigabytes and terabytes.

34. I’m no prude, but in my opinion, the “flatlined” comment about ‘Flatsy’ is morbid.

37. I grew up watching Mr. rogers neighborhood and sesame street. those were some of the best children's programs. My favorite thing on Mr. rogers neighborhood was how he started the show with a song, ended the show with a song, and how on each show he brought something to talk and educate about, and how he had guests on the show to talk about certain topics to make it interesting to children.

41. My family survived TWO Corvairs – a '65 Monza sedan, and possibly the rarest model – a '61 Lakewood station-wagon.
    Just last week, I was wondering whatever happened to 'Fizzies'. I used to put one in my mouth to feel & taste as it dissolved!
