I own a Ferrari and people put up with such quality because it's a Ferrari😂
Whether it’s a handful of cars or a thousand cars, Ferrari doesn’t care as long as it can make enough to cover the racing team…even if I had enough money and prestige I would NEVER buy a Ferrari because Enzo can suck it.
Not all ferraris in the 80s and early 90s were Painted Glasurit from factory. I have done touch up and paint work on a F40 and paint code sticker says ppg. And the ppg rosso corsa is a little more orange then the Glasurit in the same color there pigments are just shades off.
I don’t know how much paint they use on cars but from experience the weight per gallon of water based coatings is anywhere from 5-10lbs. If they went from 12-15 mils to 5-6 mils they could drastically reduce the weight of coatings they are putting on the car. For a company that spends millions on alloys to reduce weight it could be a creative solution.
It doesn't matter if it is 1m or 20k transporting a car across the world is going to tear up paint. Even Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge have to detail the cars that are only transported within the continental US.
Paint is getting thinner because it is lighter. Paint adds a crazy amount of weight
That was Ed's car ahown in front of the garage doors.
being able to say this "the quality and the standard which is what ferrari represents today" while saying all the ways ferrari is cutting corners on incredibly expensive cars is Hillarious
It's rather convenient that the cars with the wealthiest owners need the most corrections and thus costliest service…
Funny how you can polish a car to perfection but can't put a sticker on the wall without an airbubble 😅
As someone who is certified to correct paint and apply LLumar’s paint protection film for Toyota. This man couldn’t have said it better. It is SO important that the paint is perfect. Also when the paint is so bad people want a ppf applied, the life of the ppf almost exceeds the paint itself. If you can don’t do the first 18” of the car, do the whole thing if you can
Why are there So Many SIMPLE issues throughout the yrs with this So-Called Super Exotic Car brand??
Anything over like 80-100k it’s absurd to have any fisheye, orange peel or artifacts in the finish. Absolute bullshit. But a brand new 3,4,500k car should have a close to flawless as it can be from the dealer. That would piss me off so much. Take care of it right now or I swear off your brand forever. And my 250k every other year goes somewhere else. I know Ferrari doesn’t care But some poor dealership owner wants that customer, needs that guys Ferrari money.
It's called weight reduction.
This guy is completely intolerable.
that man really knows his business no bs.
If youre paying for "status" that paint better reflect what you paid .Nothing is more laughable than seeing a brand new sports/exotic with orange peeled paint. Half the owners are oblivious but it really shows these days. Lexus and Caddy usually have decent paint.
I feel like I just watched an ad for a service for a car I will never own.
I haven't driven or sat in the new Ferraris, but mid engined Ferraris up to and including the 458 Italia has: unequal panel gaps, bad paint on the red cars, chassis welds that look like they were done by a beginner with a stick welder, interiors that creek and upholstery with wavy stitching, strange fitting dash panels and many other finish quality problems like that.
My 2000 Avalon has, primer, color, pearl, & clear coat. Run like a Toyota Buick that thinks it’s a 6 series.
Great information!
Even back when Ferrari only made a couple thousand cars a year…they had tons of imperfections.
Don't blame the new paints. New paint is fine typically much better than most old paints. But it's as you said everything's robotic they paint it down to 3 mils paint and 2 clear so they can save a million over the whole year. Old paint wasn't better they just used to put 15 mil of paint on.
I owned and operated detailing shops for many years, we did PD for Jaguar, Lamborghini, Porsche and others and my skillset is still not at the level of these guys.
This whole video feels like an AD
