27 thoughts on “Paul Stanley Explains How KISS Will Continue After He and Gene Simmons Retire

  1. Once the members have all passed on, the KISS Brand will probably be sold for a hefty sum to Amazon, Google or Starbucks. And within 50 years America will have a President who loves to dress up in full costume and make-up like Gene Simmons to celebrate National KISS Day.

  2. You're the person I've been looking to get a hold of, I think this last tour Tommy and Eric should put on Eric and Vinny's makeup the fans wouldn't have a problem at all, it'd be even better I think or give them their own new characters yeah sure six months left so what. Can you pass this suggestion on to Gene and Paul for me I appreciate it. Thank you

  3. Man, money is just too important to them. I mean how much will the employees get paid?
Paul character pays $350 a week
Gene character pays $350 a week
Ace character pays $275 a week
Peter character pays $125 a week
All other proceeds go to Kiss Global LLC

  4. Please let this not be true. The first iteration was bad enough. Let this ridiculous band and it's horrible music die according to the divine justice it most assuredly deserves. The world needs to heal.

  5. He has alluded to this for years in different interviews. If there is a way to bleed every last nickel out of the band, Paul and Gene will find a way. I was a die hard fan all through junior high, high school (even when it was very "un-cool") and for years later. BUT once they started referencing "Cat man, Space Man" and putting other people in costume essentially 1/2 a cover band I was done, nothing but a money grab.

  6. I'm not sure if I'd go see KISS without any original members?? I saw them in May and it was a great show. But my memory was somewhat spoiled when they got caught lip-synching in Belgium a few months later.
I turned down a chance to see The MISFITS because Danzig wasn't with them. I doubt I'd go see The Dead Kennedys without Jello Biafra.
BUT I did see Blind Melon with a different singer in 2008 and they were great!! So I guess it just depends on the band and my mood at the time

  7. Kiss with no original members is just a cover band. Eddie Trunk said a long time ago that he thinks Kiss will end up a a franchise band. Like not all McDonald are owned by the same person. So cover band s licensed through Gene Simmons .

  8. For me having grown up with KISS, the identities associated with the makeup will ALWAYS be Gene, Paul, Peter, and Ace. The lineup has changed in KISS several times throughout their history and new members in the makeup era brought in new personas. The current lineup in the classic era makeup is an insult to me. The Spaceman IS ACE. The catman IS PETER. You want different members in KISS, fine with me. Get your own identity. Having other members masquerading as the originals holds no interest to me and I can't imagine how hard it has to be to take the stage in that makeup and pretend to be someone you're not. Through the unmasked years, members were their own person and perfectly accepted. I accept Eric and Tommy. I just don't accept them as the Cat or the Spaceman. Just the opinion of someone that's been a listener for better than 40 years…

  9. Don't be fooled. Paul Stanley is just greedy. Him and Gene Simmons will get a ton of money through licensing the use of the Kiss name and logo for a band of no-names to tour ad infinitem. Kiss, as we knew them, effectively ended when Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were out of the band for good. When Paul and Gene leave if they keep it going it will be nothing more than a tribute act just like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner. I'm sure people will go out to see them just like people go out to see those last 2 acts I mentioned, but it won't be me and I suspect that there won't be very many true original kiss fans going to those shows. It's just a money grab. And while they have every right to do it it just seems wrong, particularly when they already have more wealth than they can spend in several lifetimes.

  10. Many only continue to follow Kiss because there are still founding members playing. He's delusional if he thinks I'm going to watch a band where Eric Singer is senior member. No disrespect to Eric. I'll just remember my 70s Kiss.

  11. So we’re talking about a Kiss tribute band that charges full price for “Kiss” concert tickets? No thanks. Just the fact that they parade out two other guys dressed like Ace and Pete pretty much ruined it for me. That and they haven’t released any good music in over 20 years.
