100 people. 1/5 = 100/500. I know a most people know that, I'm sure it's part of the joke or whatever, but it's such simple math and I don't understand how pretending be ignorant makes it funnier or more relatable. And if this lady isn't pretending, that's fine, but it takes 2 seconds of thought for a joke you've prepared. To me, knowing that there are 100 people in the audience that potentially have herpes, it's kind of uncomfortable. IDK it's her joke so… Herpes, it's epidemic. Haha. I get it, now. That's funny. Cause 20% of people have it. Relatable. ~ 1/3300 have sickle cell anemia. Which is less relatable, especially if you're white. Stem cell or bone marrow transplants are the only cure for sickle cell anemia and that cure was developed by the National Institutes of Heath (NIH), which is a government organization. Most of the major innovations that improve our lives are developed by the government, i.e. GPS and the internet (DoD and DARPA). Cheers.
