37 thoughts on “It’s Time to Pay Attention to A.I. (ChatGPT and Beyond)

  1. As a digital artist, I'm worried I'll become obsolete very soon- even things like proof of work such progress images could be faked, AI art even now is very advanced

  2. All the startups in the world won’t succeed if no money can be made from their products, maybe in the future a new work value will be created, perhaps the ones who build and maintain the ai systems will be valued and the rest not so much.

  3. It was time to pay attention to AI long ago, which is why I began writing about AI, automation and technological unemployment back in 2008. It has only now been taken seriously by the mainstream culture because those chickens have come home to roost

  4. I'm a teacher, and while I enjoy some of the novelty of the AI in the classroom, I am worried for the future. "basic universal income" was mentioned in this video, Musk has said it , and it is mentioned in passing in many discussions. The reality of that is so dystopic, Not Terminator style, but the creation of a ruling upper class of AI masters and business owners, and plebs that collect cash and have less value than they do now? Overpopulation and unemployment lead to war, embraced by the elite who see no reason to keep funding those that need universal income. … and then what?

  5. Just concerned that a labeling system could be too trusted and subsequently leveraged to craft narratives for the public. Not saying it's a totally bad idea, maybe we'll need it. People should really lean to be wary of what they read, see, or hear online. Also, we should learn to be more open minded rather than just blindly trusting information and appending it to each of our pre-set world-views

  6. How will an AI react to idioms I saw in the e-mail it used the phrase "get in touch" a phrase that literally doesn't make sense and I suspect each language has so many of these expressions not to mention slang it feels like something an AI would get stuck on

  7. remember Google translate few years ago? it was so bad… now is so much better. they let native speaker users to correct mistakes so the software improved. "open" concept…

  8. "It's just a human right" Well, I think it's a human right to have free internet because it's just out there, but that doesn't stop my I.S.P. from charging me $63 a month for something that should be free.

  9. I`ve asked the chatGPT AI some questions about rules and borders in his decisions. The last answer was "at the end, we not sure that we can discipline our self to follow rules by humans". Thats the point i have goosebumbs…

  10. DA. An AI saying it has free will over others dossn't means the concept of what it is saying, AND doing it. Behind every AI is a human who programs how the AI will generate. Even if the AI loses it, a human sets it up that way.
You brought up UBI. This is a bsnd-aid solution for a fundamental problem: usury/commodity economics. UBI is the heroin of this. Who runs UBI? Banks. No, it isnt government. All this prioritises money over SUSTAINABILITY.
Where is there any reference about valuing creating sustainably? There is no way money as we know it can do this. AI can't either, UNLESS it is set up that way. Do this, and free will with others and Earth becomes standard. Being does, not is.

  11. In the end you will need to know your source of truth or be fooled and scammed by AI and people arund you, particularly when you are most vulnerable. Jesus is coming soon.

  12. Hi Great video and enjoyed the way you explained Ai. Do you think the new chips that are coming will apart from increase in data processing make any other difference? regards David

  13. calling China's choice to force watermarks on Algorithm Generated art as "cracking down" is biased. Are we cracking down on companies when we regulate them? Are we cracking down when we force companies to label things in a certain way for the benefit of the public? I think the term cracking down is being use from the perspective of the Algorithm, like in my other examples from the perspective of the corporations, and is not a human-centric way of phrasing it. And personally, I think it is very not good to frame the discussion around Smart Algorithms from their point of view. Start from the human perspective. Please for the love of humanity.

  14. Seeing the value as revolutionary and then seeing the "I am sentient"bit as a neat party trick…. y'all who are excited about this and making it popular are going to lead to our demise. I said it. I am luddite loser pants. Massive increase in lying, elevated ineptitude to come. The chatbot will become amorphous and society will homogenize over its output. DIsgusting.

  15. Imagine elevating ignorance through reliance on a few people's perspectives on how to train a smart algorithm. This is not ok. I am a luddite in some terms for sure, but giving humans something that sounds like and acts like a human but is actually an algorithm is bad form.

  16. No.
It will not bring us towards UBI. We have 2+% growth each year for the last couble of decades and people still work 8+ hours a day. We even work more than in the middle ages. Forceing ourselfes to work is our MO. If need be we invent useless alphabet-soup-positions or bureaucracy with 0 productivity just so we can feel good about ourselfes.

  17. First AI to predict the stock market: Does it go on a run and amass 90 percent of the wealth available in short order? Of course this AI is exciting and frightening.

  18. Nexalogy Scheduled to Launch AnalyticsGPT

COMTEX – Updated 6 hours ago
    Newsfile Corp
Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – February 7, 2023) – Datametrex AI Limited (TSXV: DM) (FSE: D4G) (OTCQB: DTMXF) (the "Company" or "Datametrex'') is pleased to report that further to the news announced on February 1, 2023, the Company's wholly-owned Artificial Intelligence ("AI") subsidiary, Nexalogy Environics Inc. ("Nexalogy"), is working towards launching AnalyticsGPT (Analytics Generative Pre-Trained Transformer) to the general public and SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises).

  19. Why do you think all of those tech companies just fired thousands of people?
BTW, that is the most annoying music I have ever heard, was it AI generated?
