33 thoughts on “WHAT IS THE HEAVIEST BAND OF ALL TIME?

  1. Black Sabbath – Masters of Reality will forever be the heaviest for me. Iommis riffs and the guitar / bass sound combined with Ozzy vocals creates a bulldoser that runs over you from that first cough.

  2. people thinks in general if you play in down tune for example in death metal it mean to be heavier..i don't think so..for me the heaviest styles of metal are extreme metal so thrash , death, black and doom..but in my opinion thrash has the heaviest riffs ever..and its not downtuned like death..death for me is one of the heaviest..for me death metal is one of the darkest and evilest. ( for me the thing that should not be by metallica is the heaviest song that i've ever heard.)

  3. This guy thinks Pop music is heavier than Death Metal at 21:56 due to lyrics… Yeah, Pop singers are really pissed off at life in their multi-million dollar mansions and expensive cars.

  4. After watching this video, I say Kataklysm is the heaviest band of all time for doing so many different techniques since their albums The Prophecy to Unconquered… They never do the same style of heaviness every album… And those vocals sound like its from a legendary monster (especially the duets of extreme vocals in The Prophecy). Just listen to the song Gateway to Annihilation and see… Such a unique vocalist that doesn't even try that hard, unlike many bands where vocalists scream/growl as hard as possible. Cannibal Corpse comes second to Kataklysm…

  5. The heaviest metal album of all time (for me) is ADMIRAL ANGRY- BUSTER. its basically slowed down grindcore with insane tuning. I recommend it

  6. Archgoat , Marduk( Panzer Division album), Blasphemy, Conqueror, Sadistic Execution, Sunn O))), Blood, Last days of humanity, Blood Chalice, that’s heavy , in my opinion . Thank you for very interesting content.

  7. Its probably a random Funeral Doom band tbh. Ataraxie comes to mind. Then I could say some grind band like Flesh Parade or Insect Warfare or something. Slam has incredible guitar tone, Abominable Putridity, Wormed. Despised Icon was incredibly heavy on Ills of Modern Man. Hell even Slipknot's Debut is a contender, the sheer amount of aggression on that album can stand up with all the albums you mentioned imo.

The Heaviest band I experienced live was Demigod in 2011. the whole venue was vibrating. then Mitochondrian played a set lmao

  8. I had to listen to you say Morbid Angel multiple times to realize there wasn't some heavy band I wasn't aware of named "Mormon Angel"

  9. "Heavy" is just almost too subjective of a term. To me it means something excessive and extreme like brutal death metal. Honestly, I heard some of these brutal death metal bands with these obnoxious pig squeal vocals and that's heavy but it's again, just plain obnoxious. The most brutal or "heavy" band I love is maybe Exhumed or Suffocation. Oh and Dying Fetus is 2-3 steps closest to being the heaviest kind of music, and I loved that band for like 21 years.

  10. EyeHateGod sounds and feels heavier than every band in this video. So does Melvins. Speed and growls isn't what makes heavy – clearly. If you can be heavier than every "death metal" band in existence, while playing what is basically downtuned punk and blues… that's how it's done. Anyway….that's the answer; EyeHateGod.

  11. My two cents is Parting Soliloquy by Black Tongue. The baritone guitars and down tempo and vocals are all very heavy but the picture painted in my mind during the part where Alex screams, “please don’t leave me here” brings chills and impending doom down hard.

  12. Counterparts newer song “Whispers of your Death,” must be mentioned in all of this. On the surface, the lyrics are metal meme fodder, about the singer’s cat having cancer. But the emotion behind the song and the lyrics makes you feel the pain and heartbreak the singer is feeling. It gets me emotional every time I listen through it, since I had a cat about 10 years ago and now two amazing dogs.

  13. I could not agree with you more about "the heaviest metal does not equal fast solos and blast beats the entire album" (I'm paraphrasing lol) ever since I was a little kid I've always thought that south of heaven by slayer was a HEAVY ASS TUNE just because you can feel the weight in your ears when you listen to it. I fell in love with metal right then
