Polish women need to stop drinking so much alcohol! That’s what the leader of the country’s ruling party, claims is partially the cause of the country’s dropping birth rate, which is far behind the EU average. Opposition members and activist groups are outraged at his comments and claim that the 73-year-old bachelor is out of touch. Especially when you consider that he particularly blamed women’s drinking for the low birth rate without even considering that heavy drinking among men is equally as bad for fertility. He kinda explained his thinking behind that when he claimed, with zero proof, that the reason women were such a concern is that they take only two years to develop alcoholism, compared to 20 for men. (Which is completely false). Critics have different theories for why Poland’s birth rate is so low and claim that the policies he and his party pushes are partially to blame for the low birth rate. The reality is that the low birth rate in Poland is likely due to a ton of factors, including economic outlooks and increasing development. World leaders are so worried about birth rates, coz babies help capitalism prosper, so they blame and shame women, the world is run on the backs of womens reproduction, no people no workers no money.

The funniest part about it is that the real reason for women not wanting to be pregnant is the 2020 abortion ban. Who would want to be pregnant if you can't have an abortion in a case of fetus deformation or women's life being at risk. 55% of Polish women said that Poland is not a good country to start a family/have babies and 42% of Polish women gave abortion being illegal as a reason for that. 49% said they don't make enough money to afford having a child. But sure, it's because of alcohol, cause an old man who doesn't have children himself said so.
Polish woman here – the true cause is total ban on abortion, even in life threatening cases, housing crisis and inflation. People can't afford to have children plus women are scared for their own life in case something goes wrong with pregnancy.
