0:00 Intro
0:05 It’s not safe to drive a vehicle with a bubble (or multiple) on a tire(s). The only fix is to replace the tire. The vast majority of bubbles are caused by impact damage. When a tire hits a sharp object on the road the force from the weight and speed of the vehicle is focused on the small area of contact. This compresses the tire enough that the inside of the sidewall is pinched and damaged causing a small hole in the inside tire liner layer. The impact can also damage the sidewall cords and significantly weaken the tire. The impact may not have been noticed by the driver. You can read more info here. https://www.nexentireusa.com/app/default/files-module/local/documents/Tire_Bubble_Q_A1.pdf
0:27 No extra info but a great reminder to set your tires to what the manufacturer recommends. If you open the driver’s door it’ll have a sticker on the door jamb or recommended PSI in the owner’s manual.
0:39 As mentioned, the customer replaced the alternator but never tightened the belt. It was a quick fix and now the alternator spins and charges the battery.
0:56 The technician said it surprisingly didn’t do any damage (just punctured wheel well liner). He removed it and the customer went on his way.
1:08 Broken transmission mount, which looks to be broken from the customer hitting something as you can see from the marks underneath the vehicle.
1:18 Customer needs 4 new tires, a subframe, and alignment to fix this issue.
1:26 No extra info from technician but that’s a lot of work for some flashlights lol.
1:49 The technician said: “Apparently the customer was in charge of delivering the gravy to an end-of-year sports break-up event. They hit a speed bump at too much speed and the containers fell off the rear seats and went everywhere. The whole interior had to be ripped out and trust me the smell was awful. A couple of days labor and brand new carpets and sound-deadening, I don’t know the exact figure but it wasn’t cheap.”
1:58 No extra info from the technician but you can see the sway bar link is broken and the wheel will have to be replaced (tire possibly as well).
2:09 The technician said: “We always do a walk around when their trucks come in for other repairs to cover our asses.
This truck was on city streets and busy highways every day. Being a roadside wheel when it separated it would have likely killed someone.”
2:18 Shop cat had kittens 🙂
2:32 Just needed washer fluid and it even said on the instrument cluster how to add it.
2:44 I replaced the shocks with new ones of course. I also installed new front ones.
2:54 “My colleague and I were wondering what on earth is this man doing. And then boom, the tire exploded right before his face. We went to see if the man was okay and he received minor injuries. I posted this on social media as a P.S.A. to let people know that they need to pay attention when maintaining anything on a vehicle.”
3:07 Outro. Thanks for watching!

  1. Never cease to amaze me are the things people do or let go on their cars. I had a girl tell me she hated her car because it was always beeping at her. So I went for a drive with her and she pointed out the beeping. I told her that if she put on her safety belt it would stop.

The guy in this video at the end that was over filling his tire is lucky he didn't get killed when it let go.

  2. I think it’s hilarious how when someone hears something they don’t even bother to take two seconds to look under their car, they just immediately take it to a shop.

  3. I always observe the tires on semi trucks when on the highways. Can't recall how many times I have seen the retreads peel right of the tires as they were driving. With enough warning, major damage from flying retreads gets avoided.

  4. Back in the 1970's my brother bought a 1969 Ford Econoline van that had radial tires on it ..He never seen radial tires ..He kept inflating the tire until it didn't look flat anymore .That tire blew up right in in his face .blew the back fender well out. .He said people at the gas station where ducking and a swerving

  5. 0:27 An addendum to the guidance at this time-stamp: The sticker in the door jamb applies only to the tires that were installed on the car at the factory. Now, subsequent replacements may be designed to equal the factory tires…but that is not a guarantee. In the case of replacements, the recommended cold pressure is molded onto the sidewall of each tire, near the rim. If that recommended PSI happens to match the door-jamb sticker's recommendations, then great. If not, the PSI molded onto the tire takes precedent. Perfect example: My car's sticker recommends 24 PSI…but that was in 1966, for the bias-ply tires the car left the factory with. I now run radials (Hankook 724s, to be precise) with a recommended cold pressure twice that on the sticker. Naturally, I am not running a mere 24 PSI in those tires because the factory sticker says 24; in fact, I'm low enough with the 40 I have in them now.

  6. Seeing that tire blow after getting lucky to make it to the garage reminds me of the time we went on vacation, I had just bought a used Yamaha PWC that we towed on that trip..we drove 200 miles there and 199. 9 miles back when the tongue on the trailer broke in half about two feet back from the receiver ..we were 50 feet from our driveway, luckily the safety chains kept the trailer from skidding off into a car parked on the street…when I think what if that would have happened going down the highway at 70 MPH…who knows ,,, one of the luckiest days in my life ….👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

  7. It's amazing how many people don't even bother to look when the hear or feel something is off. Flashlights as fog lights, I mean…WHY!? Cheaper and easier to fit actual fog lights, and more effective.@0 L of gravy. I once had 4 imperial gallon glass milk just break in the back of a VW Beetle. That's 18.32 L or 4.81 US gallons. You cannot imagine how long the stink lasted. Even after a "professional" cleaning. Do people even know that tires are made to take specific pressures? People are NUTS!

  8. When I got my first car, a Lexus E300 old cruiser, I was actually really scared of blowing the tires. But now I honestly just check the tire regularly when I fill it. Mostly because at home the air compressor is older than me and doesn’t have a meter on it. But I have one of those cheap plastic stick ones where the air pushes the stick up and it has a mark on it. Works pretty good

  9. 1:57 I can almost BET that Land Rover was "Mechanically Totaled"
NEVER BUY A LAND ROVER, EVER!!!!
They get "mechanically totaled" with a few thousand miles on it. It's insane how shitty these new Rover's are built.
It went from rugged, drive anywhere and almost never break and when it does, easy to fix to, gravel driveways breaking them

  10. 0:40 I think most of us have been there once or twice. Do a simple job, knock it out easily, forget one simple step. Can't figure it out. Admit defeat. Have the mechanic tell you your dumb ass forgot this bolt.

  11. If only they sold some sort of tool that was cheap and told you how much pressure is in a tire. And if the car manufacturers had just put what the tire pressure should be in a place the driver would see every time they opened their door. Wishful thinking, I know.
