  1. I look at music song by song. Adderall and the dying song were great to me. There was another song that combined elements of country which I'm not a fan of with elements of black metal which I am a fan of.
At the end of the day I'll keep listening to Adderall and the dying song.
I want all musicians especially Slipknot to be able to make their own music that they feel in themselves on their own time. I don't want auto tune and over produced catchy garbage.
Killpop and A liar's funeral are some of my favorite songs ever that seem to have come from a place somewhere deep in the soul of someone else.

  2. I personally like every album that Slipknot has came out with so far I mean some people get sick of music or a band or their sound and they move on to whatever new crap comes out I'll probably always like Slipknot as long as they continue to do what they do that is awesome

  3. I wasn’t a fan of the direction but it’s certainly not a bad album because the members of Slipknot are great musicians and wouldn’t put out anything subpar. It just isn’t for some people. People need to understand that its 100% possible to not like but still respect something.

  4. leaving my comment to see in a couple of years people coming back saying: it was actually good, we werent prepared for it.
idc what everybody says, if i do, i would be hating things that i do love so this is one of these things, ppl can complain all they want, for me its a great album and one of my favs already.

  5. The singles released were tight. But when going through the record the first time, I was like "Ahh, this is another All Hope is Gone"
And from what Jim said in the interview, the same problem of not being together enough was the problem with AHIG.

I'm sure with some time, Corey can be a bit more honest about the record. It's not near as the quality of Chapter 5 or WANYK.
But thats more about the incredible material they turned out in those albums, than the shortcoming of this one.

So I'm hoping the flat response to "The End so Far" leads to another big effort like Chapter 5 was.

    Still the best metal band

  6. I love their new album. At first I was disappointed but then I went back and actually took the time to listen to it and I see what they are doing and I love it.

  7. Been a maggot since day one.
But I am a little disappointed in it.
I wanted another Iowa/Slipknot album but thats just personal preference; its not bad but it isn't what I wanted as a day 1 maggot.

  8. when did slipknot become woke weakling victims?? "u dont like it bc it isnt iowa" is exactly the same as saying "u just dont like the movie bc youre racist and u just dont like xx race" its the exact same denial. the album was a bust. im sorry. it doesnt mean i love slipknot any less. but yall can stop going out of your way to kiss their asses none of the songs are memorable. they are mixed like shit and honestly we were hyped up so much for a worse version of AHIG and slipknot is just a business now. they arent a band that stands for anything anymore. they have become what they despise. again. if the album is so great why arent they playing any other songs off it?

  9. Slipknot hasn't made a good album in over 20 years. Period. I haven't even bothered to listin to anything they've done since their 3rd album disappointed the shit outta me. I agree with Corey that they wouldn't be where they are today without selling out to a radio friendly sound. They continue to make the same poppy, radio friendly album over and over. What their currently doing is repetitive and mundane. It would be a breath of fresh air if they made a heavy album. Even on Iowa the track "left behind" seems so out of place with the rest of the album because they knew they needed one radio-friendly track, and completely sold out on the following album. They only do what their record execs and bank accounts demand they do. Without the masks and gimmicks they would have faded into obscurity a long time ago. Do yourself a favor and listin to Morbid Angel if you want some real inspired metal.

  10. Freaking love slipknot and their new album is lit!! People just love to complain these days but you know what, if they did nothing but release the same stuff over and over again they would be getting slated for keeping the status quo and never doing something different! This is a band that’s being rocking the world for 28 years, still selling out shows, still getting number albums, I think I trust their judgment at this point as to what makes it work

  11. I have no problem with their new album and I've been a fan of them since 1999, and it's understandable that they wanna to something different and experimenting with their new sound and their dark world.

  12. Stfu pretentious Corey, Iowa is very far from being one of heaviest records of all time.
You're bassically saying that the thing was rushed, Jim saying that he was not totally happy, all this in a matter of days after the record came out, and you expect fans just eat whatever you want?

  13. idk man. I dont think I'd be bored if they kept making super heavy records over and over. their first two are the only ones I listen to.

  14. I love the album, they are artists and grow and experiment with everything they put out. Adderall itself is a masterpiece. Critics stfu if you don’t like it.

  15. I like the new album. That said, I immediately was like, "This is not a Slipknot album…" There are some truly heavy tracks on here, it's just if Slipknot wants to give people Stone Sour once in awhile, they should just say it's a Stone Sour album. I still hate Vol. 3. I put it back in the rotation recently just to see, and I still hate it. Fuck. It's really just a production problem. Rick Rubin doesn't do it for me in metal. Maybe his hip hop/rap credits are well-deserved, but I also never liked Slayer until I finally saw them live. Rick Rubin cost me years of enjoying them.

  16. I agree with Corey Taylor! People need to be Grateful with the material they created no matter what I luv Slipknot!! I haven't listened to any of there Recent albums since (The Grey Album) But I think my interest has just been piqued. 😌
